ASUS ROG Matrix 7970 vs Sapphire 6870 CrossfireX

Hi everyone,

Some time ago, when the 7970 came out, it was said that a crossfire setup of 6870 would outperform a single 7970.

Now that drivers matured, and since that Matrix 7970 card saw daylight, if you look at my configuration, would you think i could benefit from the 7970 over my dual 6870?

Look at my setup in my Sig... and tell me what you think...

I do not think that the gains from a single card (if any) would be worth the upgrade right now. What you could do is sell one 6870 and add the 7970 in CrossfireX that would certainly give a huge gain.

I thought you could only CrossfireX the same series as 7970 with another 7970 or 7950.

In his case it would be a 6870 or 6850?

Nope with AMD you can crossfire any AMD card.
