ASUS MATRIX - R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 wont work on ASUS RAMPAGE 3 EXTREEM

i have tried 3 of 4 ports for vga. i have update bios to latest version.

in begining i forgot to put 7th and 8th power connector on ports, and they were red indicators, after i put 7th and 8th, indicators are green.

after i turn on pc, i can hear 3 beeps and red light on vga indicator on mbo. then i left pc to go to windows, then from my laptop i made connection to pc and saw in properties "nothing" for graphic card. its like its not there... but ventilators are working, indicator on top of the vga is light pink colour (its a sign for heavy load).

what else to try?

thank you in advance for any answer.

kind regards,

antonio

Do you have both the PCIe connectors fitted to your graphic card?

Welcome Antonio to the ROG Forum!

Not sure what you mean by the "7th and 8th power connectors".... the point is to have all power cables connected... the graphics cards needs the 6+2 PCIe connectors...

I think it would be helpful to know more details about your system... What PSU do you have? Have you had another graphics card in the same system before? After you placed the Matrix on your mobo, have you reset the BIOS?

6 connector is standard, 7th and 8th is extra on cable to put it if you need it (6+2 on both connectors for power). i did that on both cables.

PSU - SEASONIC 850W
CPU - Intel® Core™ i7-960 Processor (8M Cache, 3.20 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI)
COOLER - ASUS TRITON 81
RAM - HYPERX - KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX - KIT OF 3 (12 GB)

i didnt reset bios, just made an update few hours ago to last version RampageIII-Extreme-ASUS-1502.rom

ps. and yes, i have another vga, its inside now and working just fine, like the rest of pc 🙂 (ATI Radeon hd5800)

Oh, I see, you're calling the individual pins as connectors! That's fine as we're on the same page now...

The PSU should support the Matrix, so no probs there...

I can not remember the R3E BIOS now, but in the BIOS may be some settings which may not be good for the newer graphics cards... do you still have your previous card? Actually I would put it back, boot into BIOS and reset it to defaults. Then go to the OS and unistall the graphic driver... then put back the Matrix and see what happens...

Then I would say your VGA is not working, unless you have the VGA cable connected to the wrong output port - please try different cables and different display output connectors on the card.

i have uninstalled drivers for old vga, reset bios to default settings, removed old vga, insert new one, turn on pc and same **** again. 3 beeps, and red indicator that there is a problem with vga.

i have on both dvi connectors connected monitors, and i have no picture on both of them. its like vga is dead... or no exit signal for monitors...

Do a clear CMOS and try again, but I am sure you have done a clear CMOS.

Does sound like your card is not working. What slot do you have your card fitted to and do you have any other cards in the PCIe slots, sound card maybe?
