I want to buy a ASUS MATRIX-HD7970-P-3GD5 but they are out of stok everywhere, so I have been thinking about maybe it't a limited edition. Is that card a limited edition or will there be made more of them?? Does anyone know that??

lol,
ASUS bad boys shouldn't use the features as advertisement if your going to keep how to use them a secret.

I don't use OCCT or anything else to check for artifacts, I wouldn't know when to stop clocking if it didn't artifact.
I use whichever bench software and keep pushing the mhz and volts until it locks up, blue screens or driver crashes.
I don't overclock a card for gaming or normal use as stability is most important for that.
I believe the solder points and hotwire will be easily identified, if it helps without extreme cooling is probably the issue for me.

OCCT with the settings he's describing is just of no worth at all if you're not running OOCT all day long for some reason?? 😛 you will never even put that heavy load on the card other than in OCCT. Like you said, If if starts artifacting in benchmarks, enough to hurt the score, back off with oc.

The matrix cards come with cables that have little connectors that you connect to the card/Mb, no soldering needed for hotwire.

Got two of them hotwired to my MVE. Then there are solder points for smbus so you can set real high voltages, thats for LN2 tho, no use for it on water/air.

I think I have all the info on Matrix cards, if you want it.

Same goes for alot of the extreme features on ROG Extreme boards too, nothing about it in the manual. For good reason I guess.

There are guides and info tho 🙂

EDIT:

Just connect the three VGA hotwire cables to these headers(this is for R4E Mb)

On my M5E it's Vcore, Vmem. PLL (from left header to right header)

Then you can adjust from BIOS or Turbo EVO

overclockers.co.uk had stock and also had a £100 saving over their previous prices.

TBH if your considering a HD 7970 i would wait 4-8 weeks. Why might you ask?

AMD are releasing their HD9xxx series in october with stock to be available that month sas sources state. Supposedly a "release" from AMD is happening around 25/226 of this month.

i have been considering to crossfire HD7970s, however might go for the HD 9xxx series if price is good 🙂
