I want to buy a ASUS MATRIX-HD7970-P-3GD5 but they are out of stok everywhere, so I have been thinking about maybe it't a limited edition. Is that card a limited edition or will there be made more of them?? Does anyone know that??

Thank you for the info Spitfire!

It looks as if I'll have to call them in order to get them to ship one to the US.

Thanks again,

James

Hmm i think they do not deliver in USA =/ ..... u can write them an email and ask they
that´s last way i think that function

FYI - To anyone interested in the ASUS Matrix HD7970-P-3GD5 Platinum Edition, Newegg has just confirmed that they are getting several directly from ASUS. This is exciting to me since I had almost given up in my deep search to find one or two of these cards to finish of my gaming build. 🙂 They are going for $499 and come with 4 games (Far Cry 3, Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, & Tomb Raider) honoring the "Never Settle Reloaded" program...

NOTE: You may notice the Newegg description of the card states that it is a GHz Edition, but the guy in product support assured me that it is indeed the Platinum Edition. I will be receiving mine Tuesday or Wednesday of this week and will post which model they are selling.

And Neweeg has one less, it arrived yesterday, beautiful looking card, first impression just installing latest drivers and GPU tweak, set the core to 1300mhz and mems to 1700mhz and ran both 3DMARK and 11 without a hitch, I didn't even hear the fans spin up indicating the card getting warm.
This could turn out to be a fun card to bench with, plus I have 4 games and a son with a birthday today, a pretty sweet deal

I do have a bitch about this card, where in the hell re some instructions, a manual, a guide on hotwire, bios switch, fan and overvolt buttons on the card and nothing to tell you what to do with possibly the best 7970 graphics card available, is this an oversite, is this missing from my package?????
Yes I may have found this information searching the web but shouldn't it be included with the card

Mine was on my porch yesterday as well. It is indeed a platinum edition Matrix card (Not GHz like the product description states). It has been installed and is working beautifully!!

@Menthal - Yeah you would think there would be some instructions for the novice overclocker/tweaker. Especially since it's got so many bells and whistles... 🙂 I am too, in need of such instructions.

Well, guys, congrats for your new toys!

Don't look for instructions in the packages - there are none... 😞 You can search the internet, but there aren't too many infos either... at least weren't when I was looking for couple months back... I even contacted some of Asus people here on the Forum, who re-directed me to an other Asus expert - but no luck... nobody could come up with some nice instructions/guides regarding these cards (I have 3 of them)...

For now I give up the hope and I'm not in a mood to experiment them blindly, so just will build them in a regular desktop for a while... maybe, one day I will get them back on my TestBench... - hope, you guys will be a lot more successful with those cards!

P.S.: Nobody should get me wrong, the Matrix Plats are very very nice cards! Just not for what I wanted them for: overclocking and benchmarking... If you want them for gaming, then I think they may be one of the best choices...

Yeah my experience with over-clocking them has not been good. Try running OCCT on those over-clocks with error checking enabled and you will find out how unstable that really is.

If you are lucky they are supposed to blast out an over-clock but I've basically given up on OC'ing mine, the stability / performance and voltage weren't worth it in the end. Still a killer card at it's standard boost of 1100mhz though!
