Please help me to clear my confusion. What is the visual difference between the ASUS HD7950-DC2T-3GD5-V2 and ASUS HD7950-DC2T-3GD5?
According to the Asus site, the cards external visual appearance look different:

http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/HD7950DC2T3GD5

http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/HD7950DC2T3GD5V2

The interface of the HD7950-DC2T-3GD5 has:
DVI Output : Yes x 1 (DVI-I), Yes x 1 (via Mini DP to DVI adaptor)
HDMI Output : Yes x 1
Display Port : Yes x 2 (Mini DP)
HDCP Support : Yes

The interface of the ASUS HD7950-DC2T-3GD5-V2 has:
DVI Output : Yes x 1 (DVI-I), Yes x 1 (DVI-D)
HDMI Output : Yes x 1
Display Port : Yes x 1 (Regular DP)
HDCP Support : Yes

Assuming this is correct, please have a look here:
http://www.evetech.co.za/PC-Hardware/asus-amd-radeon-hd-7950-directcu-ii-top-3gb-384bit-overclocked-...

The card looks like a HD7950-DC2T-3GD5-V2.
I enquired with them and they confirmed it is a V2.
But looking at the specifications, it mentions:
PCI Express 3.0 x16
Output Interface 1 x DVI-I
1 x HDMI
2 x Mini DisplayPort

Now I am confused, because, according to Asus website, the 2 Mini DisplayPort comes with the HD7950-DC2T-3GD5 and not with the HD7950-DC2T-3GD5-V2.

I need help here with some urgengy.
Thanks for your time and imput.

The card in your link is a V2, at least the one in the picture. V1 doesn't have a backplate, problems with cooling, hot VRM's. Stay away from V1.

V1's have a chrome finish on top where the cooler starts, that's an easy way to spot them.

Thanks for the tip.

Again, it is sad not having any imput directly from Asus people.
Considering to go the Sapphire route...at least the support is superior.
Marshal, your PR is poor.

waaait, about the outputs?

I'm very certain that Asus website is correct, you can see from the pic. which outputs the V1 has(chrome finish on cooler), and the same for V2. It must be the webshop that's got the spec's wrong. That seems to happen way to often.

Anything with 2 DVI's is a V2 basically, even if you get a V1 cheap I'd stay away. It has no cooling at all for VRAM, no backplate. No good 🙂

Sapphire's got some nice cars too tho 🙂

twisted, thanx for your imput.
Today I received my card. It is a monster!!! It is heavy. I might need to get something to hold the card in place before it bends the motherboard.

Do we know if this is the only difference between V1 and V2 ?

I mean except cooling issues known on V1, do we know if both cards are sharing the EXACT same electronic ?
