hey guys, is it possible to crossfire an ares 2 with another 7970?
because single ares 2 is already a crossfired of 7970, yes?

I've been replicating the artifacting by adjusting the memory clocks/voltage only, it's definitely just the memory ic bios default settings.

Have not had one artifact with my new settings below either (tested playing GW2)

Using GPUTweak_2_4_3_1

GPU Clock - 1200
GPU Voltage - 1263
VDDC - 875
Memory Clock -10% @ 5952
Memory Voltage -10% @ 1440
Power Target @ 0100
Fan Speed Manual @ 0050

hey Vince,

your memory clock + voltage idea is really great

however with 1200 gpu clock, I got random crashes on Sleeping Dogs
but on 1100 core clock, with 1257 voltage & 857 vddc
I no longer get crashes nor artifacts

Great to hear 🙂

At least we're not getting those damm artifact's anymore, i'm guessing some game's have different requirement's, i'm only playing GW2 atm.
It's definetly the memory ic bios setting's, hopefully we'll be able to update that bios ourselve's soon.

Still no artifact's at 1200 playing GW2 🙂

amd drivers 13.10 is out

gonna check it out later

yeah it is just happened that Sleeping Dogs is one of the memory hungry (graphic) games
btw amd drivers 13.10 beta is out, I hope this will bring light for Ares 2

This site is painfully slow, especially when logging in!

I have my Ares II without Crossfire past few days and zero problems, obviously it's not what I want with it being a dual gpu card but still get decent performance. Soon as Crossfire is back on have nothing but annoying problems and ALWAYS having to mess with the damn thing in terms of voltages/clocks.

My settings on single gpu:

2D
GPU:1100
GPU-V:1325
MEM:6600
MEM-V:1620
POWER:100

3D
MEM:1250
GPU-V:1325
MEM:7000
MEM-V:1620
POWER:100

Anyone here play League of Legends? I get terrible performance with this card on this game and my resolution is only 1366x768, ARAM I barely get 40fps even with settings low so something not right. Does it use 2D or 3D clocks I am not sure from tests. I can play Crysis3 and Grid2 maxed out so what's with league!?

I never play LoL, but 40fps on 1366x768 is somewhat unbelievable for Ares II

i play lol with no problems except for the artefacts and the other problems. but it hold stable 1080 P 60 fps

To get rid of the artifacts, simply reduce the memory clock/voltage by 1% at a time until it's stable.

Guessing different games require different amount's of memory clock/voltage reduction's.

Tested playing Guild Wars 2 and Mass Effect 3.

Using GPUTweak_2_4_3_1 and beta 13.10 drivers.

My setting's atm without artifact's :

GPU Clock - 1100
GPU Voltage - 1257
VDDC - 875
Memory Clock -3% @ 6400
Memory Voltage -3% @ 1540
Power Target @ 0100
Fan Speed Manual @ 0050
