Can you please let me know via PM what retailer you bought it from and what country you are from. I will try to push from here.

that's a good news atleast

For those still having artifacting issues - please first try the latest Catalyst drivers. We've worked hard with AMD to try and fix the bugs. If they still exist, please RMA your card. There's a new patch for an internal IC that was developed during July by our RD team. Unfortunately it's not user updateable sorry, which is why it requires sending back to us.

I did try 13.8beta drivers, but the problem still exists.

I was hoping it could be fixed by software, because if it requires sending back, not sure how am I going to do it lol.
I'll have a look/chat with my local asus distributor, and see what he's gonna say I guess...

I tried to downcloak it to various numbers such as 975 core and 1475 mem plus other numbers, yet its still buggy.
the only number that I havent tried is core 925 & mem 1375 (the original 7970), because I already gave up and switched the card before doing the last numbers....

if anyone here can give it a try (or already did) please do let me know the result... or else I'd wake up from my grave and became a zombie

Thats bad news. There is no other option! I don't want to send this big thing over the mail.

Also shouldn't you make a sticky about this. This is a known issue with this card. Also whats the explanation? And why can't we just update the bios ourselves?

Updated Rampage 4 motherboard bios to "Rampage-IV-Extreme-ASUS-4206" then installed "amd_catalyst_13.8_beta2" video drivers and "GPUTweak_2_4_3_1", everything set to defaults and so far no artifacts, fingers crossed.

Will the cost of delivery to you be refunded in anyway? It's a heavy package will cost a fair amount especially if needed to go abroad, I am in UK so hoping something more local is an option.

I am using the latest beta drivers with the new 'Frame Pacing' seems to be much less problematic but performance is still strange. Card does not seem to be being used much according to GPU Tweak monitor and when overclocked does not show real clocks, only in GPU-Z.

Well my card came back from rma, with asus saying they have fixed the card via a vbios update. Retailer gets the card back and says it is still broken what they mean by broken I don't know.

My retailer is horrible to deal with and wont give me a clear answer on whats going on and where my card is. I have no clue.

Sorry for all my rage posts, Finally after 7 to 8 weeks, Asus has given me 2 780. Bit pissed off that they are the Direct cu oc cards, would of preferred reference cards. Its clear that asus does not fully test their overclock cards. Will install tomorrow and just pray that they work.

This will be my first time with the green team.

with Swapping from amd to NVidia is using a driver sweeper enough? To prevent any complications? Please if someone knows.

I hope you guys rma your card and get the bios updated or get some sort of replacement. its clear no amd drivers will help.

well good for you I guess, atleast you have your matter resolved
(although it is obvious that you weren't so happy about the replacement)

I'm still waiting for any update from asus service centre. probably next week I guess
