you may want to post it on ebay tho
I dont think people would spend that much for cards that is...quite complicated to use...and very very driver sensitive
also, given that asus ares III is on the way as well

(not sure why asus would release ares III, where even ares II isnt even as perfected/advertised anyway)

Hi guys,

Do we have an update on this issue? I wish I saw this forum before I bought the Ares II card. I am seeing the screen flickering as all other mentions. However when trying to set the 3D memory it was at default the same values as mentioned to have here. But the 2D is not touched, also it is autorun when Windows starts.

My system:
Windows 8.1
32 GB RAM
120 GB SAMSUNG SSD
ARES II
Rampage V Extreme mobo

any help would be appreciated!
Best Regards,
Bahador

Hi bahador,
might be kinda late to reply, since im not active in this forum anymore

you may want to upgrade your video driver to 14.9 final, since this version is probably the most stable and included few fixes for "dual" graphic cards (not crossfire) if you havent so.
you should only use asus gpu tweak to modify ares 2, and NEVER set it on autostart (when window starts). you can set it on gpu tweak option.
the reason why, when windows starts, it will always detect the default clock speed no matter what.
so you want to load your saved gpu tweak profile LAST (after ccc loads)

because flickers (in ares 2) are caused by overvolting its videoram, so you have to laod gputweak asap after ccc loads and before running any softwares that requires clock working.
you also want to disable ULPS from regedit aswell.

gpu monitor is good to have, if you see the secondary card is running 99-100% while the main card runs on different clock, that means your system isnt detecting the 2nd card properly.

if you need any inputs or assistance, you can add me on Steam
I'll gladly help out 🙂

cheers

Hi Heichalot!

Thank you very much for your reply I was quite happy and surprised anyone replied! 😄
I have added you on Steam, my ID is ShadoX something, I have some information at home that I would like to share with you. Maybe you have some information regarding the issues that might be of use.

I have upgraded the video driver to 14.9 final and also tested the Beta version 14.11.2. But the screen flickering still occurs. However it is as you mentioned the GPU Tweaker starts along with Windows. I haven't yet tried this part before. The reason is that The card I have is somehow very strange. It only starts the monitor every 5 times after you restart the PC. After 20 minutes of usage the card is so hot it just hangs the PC. According to ASUS technicians that I have contacted one of them gaved me a software and he claims that the software only sees information about the card itself. But Still I can see two errors:
Card1_Stats.jpg
Card1_Stats.jpg

How come the card gets overheated? If I can fix this issue then I can probaly test the things you mention and see if the issues are solvable because this is really a nice card! I would like to keep it.

Thanks so much again for taking your time Heichalot I appreciated it! 🙂
Best Regards,
Bahador

I'm really sorry,
