AMD GPUs max gen = PCIe 2.1 x 16?

 I am planning to upgrade my GPU and, was doing some research when I stumbled upon something interesting in MAD's site:

http://products.amd.com/en-us/GraphicCardResult.aspx

They show that the max gen of their GPUs are PCIe 2.1 x16 while in Wiki, it shows PCIe 3.0 x16!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_AMD_graphics_processing_units#Southern_Islands_.28HD_7xxx...

Can some one please help sort the confusion?

Thanks,
KP

HVM, Dummy, twisted1, yeah I understand. I am a huge AMD fan. I was more worried about people who are not aware of the facts regarding the gen versions. I build systems for some of my friends and, family and, they feel 3 > 2.1 >2!! I need to explain to them what it means and, etc. Hence this post. For you and, me or, anyone in this forum, we know what it means. For people who are not too keen on knowing the tech or, are not aware of the tech, its very hard to digest the facts.. 🙂
