I used 2mm on TUF X670E, factory had misaligned pad, link 1 and link 2.  Many user shares I have seen 1.5mm is appropriate for thermal pad. I have read incident were no pad, link.

I was wondering about the thermal pads behind the x870 hero am5 backplate there are some thermal pads, was wondering the size of those, ty for response, you are referany to the chipset on front? I was going to put some more behind the ram sticks on the back behind the backplate.

I heard they put more pads behind the backplate not sure where maybe vrms or chipsets also on the back on the x870 hero A5 board, but wanted to pick up some maybe ill just order both sizes idk...

Yes I am referring to chipset on front of motherboard as original post in thread was about that.

I'd be very surprised if adding pads near RAM slots on backplate will aid anything at all.

I haven't found a review or owner share stating X870E Hero backplate has any thermal pads, do you happen to have link or images?

I haunt a lot of forums, some places even have people competing on HWBOT and not even seen them say they add thermal pads to back of board where dimm slots are.

Perhaps ask youtuber to do video with testing data with and without thermal pads on back of dimm slots.
