X870E Hero & 8000 MT/s RAM

I am wondering when we will see a compatible BIOS released for the ROG Crosshair X870E Hero, Ryzen 9000 series processors and 8000 MHz RAM. More specifically, compatibility with either these two kit models:

Team T-Force Xtreem 48GB (2 x 24GB) DDR5 8000 (PC5 64000) FFXD548G8000HC38EDC01

G.SKILL Trident Z Neo Series 48GB (2 x 24GB) DDR5 8000 (PC5 64000) F5-8000J4048H24GX2-TZ5NR

Any knowledgeable spokesperson from ASUS have an estimated compatibility date for these kits?

I use the 0505 BIOS with some patriot VIPER Xtreme5 2x48gb @8000mhz cl34 memories without problems on the x870e hero, those memories don't even have an EXPO profile. Try that BIOS to see if it works well for you.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm on 0706 now and would rather wait for official compatibility than rollback to a previous BIOS version.

I was in 0706 and it was terrible, any OC to the ram was the same as not passing the training. Very bad BIOS for ram.

I'm not an expert RAM overclocker but I am hoping to solve a few problems with a QVL 8000MHz kit.   At 6200MHz in 1:1 mode, the Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MHz (2x24GB) CMP48GX5M2B6000C30 kit latency is bad. Maybe I need to adjust a few timings and voltages, I'm not sure.

Maybe a 8000MHz kit in 2:1 mode will solve the latency problem and lower my CPU idle power consumption -- which is averaging between 40-43W. Plus having the memory controller synchronized with the infinity fabric is really important.

Hi,

your latency is very high for 2 reasons : TRFC 1270 and TREFI 12076

here`s a screenshot of my zentimings to give you more of an idea,

your memory is 24gb hynix m-die so you need to aim for 160ns TRFC

change TRFC to 512 and TREFI should be 65535...

Hey, thanks for the tip. I've been binge watching BuildZoid videos and I was just getting ready to change the refresh rate (it's defaulted at Auto) but I wasn't sure what else to do. I'll adjust trfc and see how it goes. BZ said something about rolling back to a previous X870E Hero BIOS for better compatibility so maybe I should reconsider using 0505 instead of trying to make an 8000MHz work with version 0706. By the way, for your timings, BZ recommends that in 2:1 mode the UCLK should be the same as FCLK for the best results. You could probably also reduce your vsoc from 1.3 to 1.050V.

Hi,

0505 is the most stable for me,

as for bullzoid ,well I tried his method = 60ns

2167 fclk = 57.7 ns

so what he says is kind of true, but kind of not, soc 1.050V would not run fclk at 2167

remember this the faster the FCLK the less the penalty....

best thing to do is find out what works for you, and test thoroughly

so you can overcome the latency penalty

Ah yeah, that infinity fabric frequency would require a little more juice. What kit are you using? I'm waiting on T-Force Xtreem restock. So I made those refresh interval and trfc adjustments which did help both bandwidth and latency but I still need to somehow shave off another ~8-9ns.

Hi...

My memory is GSkill F5-8400J4052G24G....

Shaving another 8-9ns off is quite feasable, try TCL 28/30....
