Hi,
I recently built my new PC with an X870E-E Strix motherboard, but I'm having a whole host of problems including those related to USB devices.
I'm trying to use the ASMx424X_FWUpdateV40013_u424241022200011AcmAPDV5 on the motherboard's support page.
Initially when I tried to run the program, it said something like 'failed to load DLL'.
On subsequent attempts to load the FW update tool, nothing happens. The process 'supd' is running in the background but regardless of how long I wait, nothing happens and it hangs there.
The only way I can get it to do something is to run the FW update tool WITHOUT unzipping the folder first. If I do this, on the first attempt, it will say 'Load IO driver fail. Please close the tool and try again.' I notice that the USB4(TM) Host Router (Microsoft) disappears in device manager.
If I then try again, USB4(TM) Host Router (Microsoft) reappears in device manager, and the tool reports that the FW is on the latest version.
This is slightly bizarre and I've never encountered something like this before. Now I'm worried that running the FW update whilst it was still zipped may have screwed something up.
Why is the FW update not functioning properly?
