X870e Crosshair Hero, EXPO profile wont boot. Stuck on default RAM settings

Camboss
Level 7

I have just finished my new PC build and cannot get it to boot unless i leave it on the default ram profile. Setting it to the EXPO profile will not boot after RAM training.

CPU: AMD 9950X3D

RAM: Gskill Trident Z5 Neo 2x32Gb 6000Mhz (F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR) (2 kits installed with consecutive serial numbers

SSD: Saumsung 9100 4TB M.2

I am an avid DCS player and it loves RAM so i need as much as possible hence why i have 2 64gb kits.
My RAM is also on the supported RAM list.

I am not an overclocker by any means so i dont feel like playing around with manual timings and settings. Can someone please assist?

and should it work, go back to the shop you bought 128gb of ram and exchange them for 1 kit of 2 sticks of 64gb ram

140 number is for the ssd and not the ram

It can be tricky installing 4 sucks of memory, set the DOCP in the bios and then change the speed to 5600MHz and with you from there...

Here is my thread where I've got four sticks working

Asus X870 Hero - AMD Ryzen 9800X3D - G.SKILL 6400MT/s CL30-39-39-102 1.40v (F5-6400J3039G16GX2-TZ5NR)

yours is for 64, which is 4 by 16, his is 4 by 32, he only needs 32gb ram for his game

as far as im aware, once you max out the pc from max ssd, max ram, you starts degrading the performance of the machine, less pcie lanes ect

if you dont have enough left for the cpu, it wont boot.

now he is possibly getting confused between vram from the gpu and system ram. even on a 5080, if i max everything 4k and try to enable full ray tracing , games say i dont have enough vram for these settings. thats on nvidia for only giving 16gb vram

you have to look at his use case, which is gaming in dcs. he wants it to be plug and play as he mentioned he does not want to go into bios and make changes. the best setup for his use case is 32gb full 6000mts ram speed with 2 sticks in dual channel. lower latency sticks will work better i.e cl26 but cl 30 is the best price per peformance stat. bigger ram sticks will only increase latency detracting from his game. above all you absolutely dont want to add chokepoints or bottlenecks into the system by maxing out everything.
