I updated my BIOS from the 1605 Version.
Specs: 9800x3d, 64gb 6400MT, direct-die cooling.
The problem is: I am using a Yamaha Mixer/Interface for my audio connected to the PC via USB, the Interface is using the Yamaha Steinberg driver. Ever since the BIOS update (and applying the same settings as on the older BIOS) the driver reports a USB Error and I notice audio cutouts too. The disconnects only last for about half a second and then reconnects by itself.
I installed the new firmware and reinstalled the chipset driver, no luck
It is really weird as it never happend prior the BIOS update...
edit: okay so it seems the USB handler is somehow upset about some of my BIOS tweaks... I don't know how it could but I will now troubleshoot it until I find the trigger for the USB to misbehave.
edit2: Okay so I punched in my RAM timings and voltages and the USB issue appeared.

Update the firmware of the USB ports. You can find it on the Asus website for your motherboard.

I have already tried that to no avail…
I will try a clear CMOS and after that wipe my Windows installation.

Not the drivers, but the firmware of the USB

reformat your usb drive and make sure it is FAT32.

Hello,
I have the same audio issue after updating to bios 2004 but i have an ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI.
Coming back to Bios version 1804 and issue is gone.
Look like it's not related to your Yamaha product, i have a Logitech G prox 2 lightspeed Wireless (USB) and sometimes, the audio is cut (for example : discord + gaming session)
I don't know what happen but look like a potential problem with agesa 1.3.0.0. I precise i use the same bios settings since multiple bios update and this is the first one i have this audio issue.

I find that really funny. People ask for help but don't do what they tell you. Update the USB chip's firmware. That should solve the problem.

I find that really funny as well when someone jump to conclusion 🙂
1) I'm not asking for help, this is a forum, sometimes you can discuss about a topic, here i share my experience.
2) my bad, i forgot to write it but i have already updated before posting.
3) i wil update again but this times, leave the default optioin without any custom ram timing or PBO settings to see if the issue occured again
