Trouble booting from USB for clean windows install (X870-e-e)

Rog Strix X870e-e, 9950X3d.

I can't get this machine to boot from the usb with Windows media creation tool, keeps giving me essentially a bsod. It's been running for around 6 months, but I did not do a clean windows install, I just used the boot drive from the old 5950x board. After the swap i had planned on doing a clean install of Windows but had issues trying to get it to boot from the usb drive then and just more or less decided I'd try again if I started having issues.

So... I'm trying again and failing. I have used this same 16gb drive for a clean install before so i don't think that's it. I've googled a bit, and tried disabling fast boot, also saw somewhere someone said disable secure boot, however the only options I have in secure boot are standard and custom. I have the latest bios already.  Any help is appreciated; I'm starting to get more frequent bsods and i really need a clean windows install on this machine. I assume something in my bios settings is wrong.  Thanks

Resolved... I had never heard of Rufus until googling my installation failure. Used it to burn iso file on to usb and installation went as expected. Not sure how some obscure 3rd party program can work when the official Microsoft process fails but whatever I guess....

Well I finally got it to boot from the flash drive after re downloading the media creation tool again and now I get a windows 11 installation has failed error. I have never run into issues like this before.
