Hooking up my old Panasonic SA-BT200 7.1 receiver and struggling to get surround working. The receiver is tested and working on all channels through HDMI.
I have the Rog Strix x870e-e Gaming Wifi running Windows11
I would like to use optical audio, which is working, however only 2 channel is supported on this MoBo
*('C Sub & 'RL RR' cannot be selected)
I have reinstalled realtek audio drivers. I have switched Bios setting - Audio IO from Auto to both 6 channel options.
Questions:
My little project has become something frustrating.

I am in the same situation as you. With optical cable hooked up; I only get 2.1 stereo. I have a Logitech 5.1 sound system. There is NO mention of the stats for the optical S\PDIF out port. That tells me that it is 2.1 capable only. I think I am going to look into a sound card to fix this.
