When my pc is powered down (Power supply off) my bios settings reset to default. This happens if the power supply is off for 2 minutes. I saved a profile and it was gone too. Is something set wrong in the bios to retain my settings? I have had the board less than a month bought new.
Bios version 1001. Same thing happened with 0903 and 0803.

I found an option in BIOS that solves my problem. Just activate ErP Ready (S4+S5) like on this screenshot

I replaced the CMOS battery hoping it would fix the issue. It seemed to work until I had the power off for over 30 minutes. Upon turning it back on it went back to F1 had stop.

I have exactly the same problem on the same motherboard, with this message:
"Please enter setup to recover bios setting.
When raid configuration was built, ensure to set sata configuration to raid mode.
Press f1 to run setup."
I thought it was a RAM problem and it's not. I've also replaced the bios battery and the problem is still there. The bios date and time won't reset. I've also reset the bios, flashed the new 1003 bios, with the bios factory settings, and the problem is still there. When I don't switch off the PSU I don't have any problems, and the PC boots normally.

@neverfastenufDid this fix work for you?
I'm having the same issue with the Strix x870-a, and it sounds like the -a and -f are the same board in different colors (but I don't know for sure). Even if they're not otherwise the same boards with different colors, this could be an issue impacting some (many?) Asus x870 boards.
But I also recently found someone else has the same problem with the same x870-a board and a fix that worked for them here. So if the ErP fix in this thread didn't work, maybe this fix will? At least if one or both fixes work, this could be fixed with a BIOS update!
However, the issue is pretty intermittent (at least for me). Sometimes I lose BIOS settings in under 10 minutes, sometimes it takes a few hours. So far, it seems to happen EVERY time I leave the PSU unplugged or switched off for an entire night... So it's possible that neither fix actually corrects the issue because sometimes it can take hours to happen again. There likely needs much more thorough testing.
And because of the intermittency of the issue, that would probably explain why the flaw is missed in QC.
I sent my board in yesterday for RMA on this issue... But when I get my board back, I'll try both of these fixes. If either fix works after a week of leaving the PSU off for the entirety of each night, I'll consider the problem resolved. Either way, I'll share my results here.
(This is my 2nd attempt to RMA the board for this issue... They sent it back the first time saying nothing was wrong, and in spite of including a link to a YouTube video I took demonstrating the issue, they'll probably send it back again. UGH)
