Hi all,
I'm setting up a new build with the ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E and I have a question about M.2 slot usage and PCIe lane sharing. I originally thought I could setup a 5 M.2 NVME ssd RAID 0, but I now realize that probably wouldn't be possible.
I found this thread about the topic: Strix X870E-E Gaming Wifi M.2 gen 5 and PCIe lane sharing
Based on that, I understand that using slots M2_2 and M2_3 causes the primary GPU slot to share lanes and cut its performance in half.
I'd like to use a single M.2 NVME Gen 5 drive to boot from in the M2_1 slot. My question is, can I create a separate RAID 0 array using two other Gen 4 M.2 SSDs in the M2_4 and M2_5 slots without impacting the GPU's performance?
Thank you for your help.
