ASUS 4242 and PD-GX Firmware Windows Update Tool
-Updated firmware to ver. 250708 for ASM4242 and V0206 (GX) for IT8857 to improve compatibility with connected devices.
Found below in Bios Section. Updated both today and no issues. Run both the PD (power delivery) update and the 4242 update.
Please note after the 4242 update is done and you hit restart, your connected devices will turn off. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING. let the update do its thing. It will come back after it is done and restart the computer on its own.

Hi there,
Sorry, I’ve never done this type of update before. Is it something you do once and it updates within the motherboard chip or Windows itself, so that if I happen to do a Windows restore, I’d have to reapply it?
Thank you

it updates in the board itself so the chip in the motherboard. Even if you reinstall windows it will keep the firmware update.

You would have to find the specific devices in device manager.
Right click--->Properties--->Details Tab---> In the drop down menu select "Hardware IDs" and it will tell you the firmware. I believe that will only work for the 4242 update. The PD update will just tell you in the command prompt that pops up if the update is successful or not. If someone knows the specific device for PD so you can check then they can comment.

Heads up to anyone who gets stuck in an endless reboot prompt.
I had to turn off the "Automatically save my restartable apps and restart them when I sign back in" option in the Windows Sign-in settings options page. (search for "restart" and it should appear in the start menu)
Just don't pick either yes or no in the reboot prompt until you change the setting.
After that, the next reboot was normal.

No you do not need to update the latest bios. This only updates the 2 specific firmware parts of the board.
