rog strix x870e-e gaming wifi no post error 00

Hello everybody, i'm new to this forum.

My cpu is 9800x3d and my ram Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 32gb (2X16gb) 6000MHz CL30

I was with the bios version 1715 running stable since i installed it, probably a month. My system always performed well and fine.

Today i was chilling and playing supermarket simulator on steam and suddenly my monitor went black, i checked the motherboard and the temp display was stuck on 38 (cpu temp).

I tried to reset and then the code 00 on the motherboard display and the led orange always on.

So i started all the kind of tests with the ram first, then i reset cmos but nothing happened, still code 00. I noticed that if i unplug all the ram i get the orange led. When i plug 1 ddim into the A2 or B2 the led turns off, but if i plug just 1 ddim into A1 or B1 the led still stays on, i'm not sure if this is intended or not but i'm collecting all the possible infos.

I removed the cpu and its status was good, no bad signs, everything ok.

I placed the cpu back and removed all the plugs of the fans and leds and others, i checked the connectors of the cpu still the same error 00

The last thing i did was to update the bios because i noticed there was a new version (irreversible tho so i wasn't sure). I updated it anyway using the bios flashback button with usb. The update worked but still code 00

I would go for rma but what if it's the cpu? anyone can help?

Thank you

Hello ROGn9glajdypgfg

Code 00 most of the time means the cpu isn't detected, but it can also be the motherboard, and in rarer instances the power supply.

Without having another cpu or motherboard to test with, it's pretty much a guessing game. To save downtime, you could rma both the cpu and motherboard.

Thank you for the reply, in fact i feel like i'm in a guessing game... I tested a different power supply already and nothing changed... my first guess was the motherboard because, come on cpu don't die right? and then i've read things on the internet so i'm not sure anymore, i'll try to rma the cpu first i think, i'm already in contact with asus tech support for suggestions... system was running fine, i'm sad q.q

I've been facing the same issue for the past few months. I've already RMA'd the 9950X3D and motherboard three times.

At first, I was using an X670E HERO. After RMA'ing the motherboard twice, I decided to buy an X870E HERO instead.

Unfortunately, the problem persists. After using each CPU for about a month, error code 00 suddenly appears.

It's extremely frustrating, and in the meantime, I've had to buy a mini PC just to replace my main setup.
