ROG Strix X870E-E - Ethernet and USB issues

PhilH930
Level 9

Just built a new pc with ROG X870E-E, 9800X3D, 64Gb G-Skill EXPO, 990 Pro M2, 4090OC.

Upgraded BIOS from 0204 (was a Nov purchase, just never got round to building it) to 0604, 0704 and then 0804 (as they were released).  Found the time to install Win 11 and all was off to a good start.

Randomly, my ethernet stopped working.  I had installed the LAN Driver V1126.16.1121.2023 as posted on the support page, and tried an alternate from Realtek.  The internet connection will work, then it suddenly drops.  Opening web pages is a non-responsive exercise.  My current fix was to uninstall the Realtek LAN Driver and use the default windows driver, which is stable and works again.

The second issue was a random USB issue with warnings in device manager.  I think this impacted my USB connected Lian Li fan products as they then became erratic.  A little research and checked in BIOS that USB Power in Soft State was set to Enabled (which it was),  The problem has since gone away.

The ethernet is the biggest pain here, amongst general instability.  Makes my prior 5900X build seem easy as things just worked!

Thank you for the solution.  Only 5 mins into that change after reinstalling the Realtek Driver V1126.16.1123.2023 and disabling energy efficient ethernet.  So far it is holding up, which is a longer connection than I have maintained since 24 hours ago.

24+ hours with great connectivity - marked as solution.  Allows me to move on to the numerous other gremlins in the system haha!

did you solve the USB part ?

The USB issue went away on next install of win 11 and never able to replicate.  All I can note is running latest drivers across the board from Asus support page.
The only irritating thing with USB noiw is it shows all the Lian Li fans and AIO as removable devices in win 11.  Just hiding that for now.,

I am unable to find a secure website for the driver you mention here, V1126.16.1123.2023. Where did you find it?

Tried this and unfortunately did not work.

I have nearly identical specs as OP. My internet was fine the day I installed everything (1Gbps up and down). Suddenly a week after, I installed the latest plan drivers and it screwed everything up. Have not been able to return to that driver and my internet does what your's did; except ONE thing. It still loaded up websites and such.. just have 1/3 of my speeds and my uploads are horrible. Takes 35-40 mins to download a 20 gb game.

I need to get this fixed asap; it's driving me up a wall. I think my best bet now is to do a new clean re-install of windows all over again.
