ROG Crosshair x870e Hero Memory compatibility problems, rebooting to postcode 0d

I made a recent build with a ROG Crosshair x870e Hero motherboard and Ryzen 9 9950X CPU.

The initial build was with the 0606 bios but I've since updated to the 0706 bios.

For RAM, I wanted 128GB (I'm a software dev and I sometimes need to run multiple VMs to test my software). There isn't a 4x32GB kit on the QVL but I've had good luck pairing two 2x32GB kits in the past. I didn't expect to run the RAM at full EXPO speeds.

The only 2x32GB EXPO kit available in my area (without ordering it and having it shipped) is the KINGSTON FURY Beast RGB 64GB (KF564C32BWEAK2-64), also not on the QVL.

There are many 2x32GB Kingston kits on the QVL and this kit is listed on Kingston's site as compatible with this motherboard, so I was hoping this would be fine.

And it is fine, generally.

With 4 UDIMMs installed and a lot of testing, I was able to achieve stability with EXPO I enabled running the RAM at 4000MT.

It ran MemTest86 Pro 11.1 through 4 complete test cycles with no issue.

Windows 11 installed with no issue.

Every once in a while, when I reboot, it stops during POST and the postcode "0d" (RAM training error) is displayed. Also, the RGB on one to two of the RAM sticks is not active.

To get around this, I do a CMOS reset, go into the bios, reconfigure the RAM, and it will just work again. Until it doesn't.

Today I got frustrated so I did some more testing. I tried with just two sticks or RAM installed. Surprisingly, it's working even worse.

First I tried enabling EXPO and running at full speed. It was fine with 1 pass on MemTest86. But when I rebooted it would display a "Post Failure" message and tell me to press F1 to go into BIOS settings to reconfigure the RAM.

Even with EXPO turned off it still has problems rebooting, with just two memory sticks installed.

Sometimes it will display the "0d" post code and sometimes it will give me the Post Failure message.

Is there some BIOS setting I might not be aware of that will increase memory compatibility?

Has anyone had luck with a 128GB setup? What about 96GB?

Crucial has 2x48GB and 4x24GB kits on the QVL. Would those work better?

I suspect this is an issue Asus might fix in a future BIOS update. Do they monitor this forum or is there a way I can submit this issue to them directly?

Thanks for any advice.

Im suffering with just the USB communication issues ... the impacted devices are rather random .. mostly the phone yes or the usbc wireless headphones ....  or the Thermaltake 3.9" lcd screen  .... all connected to different usb ports onboard or header even if i connect them via intermidiary hub 😞 ..... https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/amd-800-series/usb-only-glitch-stuck-reconnects-crosshair-x870e-hero/m...

There's a new beta bios and new chipset drivers from AMD. Hopefully, they help with some of these issues.
