ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO bluetooth issue

I have a newly purchased X870E Hero motherboard, and I’ve already encountered Bluetooth issues twice. In Device Manager, it shows a "Device Descriptor Request Failed" error.

The only way to get it working again is by clearing the CMOS.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and how to properly fix it?

thanks

Hi, the same exact thing happened to me 30min ago. I'm gonna try resetting the CMOS, I'm pretty sure it's a driver/BIOS issue if it happened to the both of us.

EDIT: Resetting the CMOS fixed it for me also. This is the weirdest motherboard I ever had hands down...

thanks to this thread i managed to solve the issue.

cmos reset as well

Also Crosshair x870e Hero. Windows 11 pro.   Bluetooth doesnt work.  it shows error 43 on generic adapter.  if i remove it and try their QCA driver it still shows the error in device manager.  tried resetting CMOS.  Wifi works with MediaTek Wi-Fi 7.  Not sure what else to do other than return it.  will try to contact their support tomorrow.  It is interesting their website shows QCA drivers for wifi but device manager shows mediatek.  https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-crosshair/rog-crosshair-x870e-hero/helpdesk_download/

I used their driver, and the thing stutters as soon I do a game with bluetooth sound needed (homebike). Tested with two others buds, would disconnection pretty soon after stutters. Thus thing is garbage or at least driver. Why is Asus sourcing cheap components here for bluetooth? Took random dongle with bluetooth.. fixed.

Considering returning mobo.

I got my issue fixed. im an idiot and didn't see the numerous Bluetooth drivers listed on the website that are collapsed.  I talked to a tech support person on chat and the first guy told me I had the qualcom Bluetooth chip, but the next guy told me I had a mediatek one.  Depending on what version of the motherboard u have it will vary.  Probably identified somewhere in the serial number on the box. Or u can look at the chip itself but it's under a shield.

Pain in the ass u had to remove the MB. Not to mention PC downtime.

Try the chat support. Once u get to a human they may help.

ASUS DriverHub says I have the MediaTek one, I did install it but it would cause the BT to be really disconnecting fast (starting up BG3 and it would crackle), I used a dongle instead .. IF it is just the BT and not affecting the Wireless, I may keep the mobo, but it is really annoying on such a MB .. considering they have released the extreme version few months ago as well..

I will be trying in Linux (if it works there even) if this could be just a Windows thing with the driver .. but would be strange..
