Regarding Firmware updates for ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI

Hello everyone, just a quick question!

There are a lot of firmware options listed on the ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E motherboard support page. I'm currently experiencing a blue screen issue, and a Microsoft support agent analyzed my DMP file and traced the problem to the ASMedia driver.

Given that, which firmware should I install, and in what specific order?

I've already installed the latest version listed at the top, "ASUS LEGO IT8857GX V0203 Firmware Update Tool," after receiving confirmation from the support agent regarding issue with the ASMedia driver. However, as a secondary question, I'm wondering if I should have installed the "ASUS LEGO IT8857GX V105 Firmware Update Tool" first, since it's an earlier version and appears to include different fixes?

I just received another reply from the support agent who analyzed my DMP file:
"The dump shows that you have a device with the identifier VEN_1B21&DEV_2421. This corresponds to an ASMedia PCI Upstream Port. It may be part of the motherboard, in which case its driver would be included in the motherboard’s chipset driver package. Please contact ASUS support for clarification."

I tried to install those drivers, but the software responded that I already have the latest drivers installed. Could you please forward this message to the developer so they can investigate the driver issue further?

Ok,

Asmedia has to do with the sata ports and possibly the usb ports. I don't see any specific asmedia drivers, except the firmware updates you listed. So, apparently as you posted above, the asmedia driver is installed with the chipset driver.

How does device manager look, any devices showing a yellow triangle?

There looks to be a later chipset driver at the AMD website. You could try uninstalling your current chipset driver and installing the later one from the AMD website.

X870E Drivers

Not sure if this will help, but would be worth a try.

I've used https://driverhub.asus.com/en and installed the latest drivers, except for the VGA driver, because the version listed there wasn’t the most recent. I found the newest VGA driver on the motherboard’s support page and installed it manually.

According to https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x870e-e-gaming-wifi/helpdesk_download/, the latest chipset driver is AMD Chipset Driver v7.01.08.129, which I’m currently using.

I always download drivers from the motherboard’s official support page because they’ve been validated and tested to ensure compatibility with ASUS products, particularly with the specific motherboard model.

Do you know when they will update the latest driver on the motherboard's support page?

download latest chipset from amd site, its up to 7 06 now

I updated the 'ASUS LEGO IT8857GX V0203 Firmware Update Tool' from the motherboard's official website because it's also associated with ASMedia, and now the problem is resolved.
