Helo Dcarter
Checking the Q-Code table, I don't see code C5, I do see code 5C.
Scroll to page 57.

Can you double confirm the code is C5?

Can confirm c5 code. I did further investigation this morning can confirm bent pins on the socket.
plan is to return board for an exchange but am worried about possible cpu damage also. So will try to work with microcenter to get it right. Have not had a bent pin on me since pentium 3 days. So it happens! The am5 socket force for closing cpu to board seems excessive.
thanks for the quick repsponse. Will inform what microcenter does it is ASUS service center in my area.

Ah, that's unfortunate.
Good job finding the problem though. I doubt there is any cpu damage, just one socket pin being off will cause some kind of problem.
I guess we'll wait for your response from Microcenter, let us know how it goes.

Hi Dcarter
I'm sorry to hear this news, but I want to tell you that I had the exact same problem as you before, my new motherboard was Q5 on the first day. After checking is the CPU pin crooked three, finally Asus after-sales center gave me a new (may be) motherboard.
Although I have no definitive proof, I highly suspect that it was a QC defect (Made in Vietnam), not a squeeze caused by our misinstallation of the radiator.
