Q-CODE 62 with VGA led randomly

hello,

I built my PC a few days ago and I've been having a random problem ever since.
In fact, every other boot fails with error 62 and the VGA LED.
The only way to fix the problem in this case is to clear CMOS and then reload the BIOS settings to EXPO. The PC restarts without issue at this point. I have no instability under Windows 11. I've tried several BIOS versions with the same result.

I heard that CORSAIR memory should be avoided at the moment, and I happen to have a CORSAIR kit. Can you confirm this?

I'm leaning towards a RAM problem despite everything, perhaps timings too tight for the memory controllers, I don't really have any other leads.

Here's my full configuration:

RTX 5090 FE with riser linkup 5.0

RYZEN 7 9800X3D

X870E-E STRIX GAMING WIFI

CORSAIR 64Go CMK64GX5M2B6000Z30 30-36-36-76

SEASONIC NOCTUA EDITION TX-1600 ATX 3.1.

Thanks.

Hi,

Im running Corsair memory myself without and problems. Sounds like a risecable problem to me. Maybe try first setting it to 4.0 and see if that helps. If not maybe try not to use the cable if possible, and see if the problem persists.

Hope this answer helps,

Remco

Thanks for the reply.
I forced the PCI 4.0, which resulted in a BIOS failover. I think it's because of the riser.
Before removing it, since it requires some physical modifications, I tried something else: lowering the frequency to 5000 MT/s. Since Thursday, I haven't had any errors 62.
I'm expecting a kit this afternoon, but the problem seems to be with the RAM, but maybe not the RAM itself. Maybe I'm unlucky, and one of the memory controllers isn't accepting this frequency.

I'll keep you posted.
