ProArt X870E-Creator BIOs 1203 problem

Saw and upgrade my ProArt X870E-Creator to the latest BIOS version 1203 today and the system hangs at the booting process with White LED which I believe is VGA/display related.  I am using a RTX 4070 graphics card and 2 x 48GB G.Skill RAM.  Tried clearing the BIOS and even did a BIOS flash back but nothing works except reverting back to BIOS version 1104.

i dont have a proart, but i do have a ROG Strix x870e-e and have the exact same issue.  i have tried everything including contacting asus support.  all they told me was to roll back to 1104.  the guy said they are aware of an issue, but he couldnt tell me what the issue is.  i think it's video card related too.  i have a 5090 fe.  i tried various configs in the bios on 1203 but as soon as i save it locks up requiring a reset and flash back.  really annoying but good to know it seems to be an issue with 1203.

I have a  ROG Strix x870e-e and I had a similar problem when I updated to 1203 today. I've had to turn off EXPO or I just got a black screen.

  • Just for info, I have a x870e hero MB with 9800x3d, running OCd 2x16GB g.skill ddr5-6400 28-36-36-38 @1.5V.
  • With 1104 I get 69k read, 97k write and 66k copy and 69ns on AIDA64. With 1203 I got 65k read, 41k write and 63k copy and 68ns. Same OC, no other changes.
  • Tried changing things, nothing helped. BIOS reset and Windows load without any OC or EXPO gave me terrible read and copy with latency of 98ns, but about 10k higher write.
  • Reverted to 1104, results reverted back. I also saw higer RAM instability with 1203 and microstutters in Darktide and Kingdom Come 2,  which were not present in 1104.
  • Didn't dig deeper but maybe the info helps ASUS to fix this.
