M.2 Bend B850I

I got a new b850i and mount the m.2 in the main Slot with the Rubber pad.

Like you see the m.2 bends alot and the daughterboard too. Is anything here i can do? Testet 1mm thermal pads then its better but the half of the m.2 didnt have contact.

Before on b650e-i it was better because the Metal holder under the m.2 was more robust.

Sorry for late Answer but was not @ home. Yes it sits properly. The problem what i thinks is the thermal pad himself. It its to thick and hard.

And the new under ssd metal plate is to thin and takes the complete pressure from the top on 2 screws in the bottom pcb. So that will bend before compression the thermal pad.

I take softer thermal pads its the same. So what i can say now the construction is garbage.

on the b650i the metal plate was thicker and with an ultra soft green thermal pad. Work flawless

I try it whith 3 different types of m.2. Seems the 990pro is a little bit thinner as the wd850. But same problem.

Hello,

I would say if it is straight without the thermal pad, stop using the thermal pad and consider thermal paste instead.
