Hi, I was building a PC with this motherboard,Asus Prine X870-P WIFI, and I saw this plastic strip that seems to go under the shield. Does it have any function?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Is it to help you peel off the clear protective film on the I/O Shield?

Just got the X870E Hero motherboard and that is the pull tab for the protective film that covers the I/O shield while it is in the box / shipping. You will want to remove that before installing the motherboard. I doubt there's harm in leaving it, but I'd suspect that the adhesive will get messy once the PC is running (heat) and then could leave residue on the I/O shield should you decide to remove it later on.
