BIOS 0804 (ASUS ROG STRIX 870E-E): Please share your experience

... or to put it in the words of @Nerdtastic who asked this question with regard to the 0706 BIOS:

So, uhhh, who is going first??

😄

I stayed away from 0706 due to reports of poor EXPO compatibility. A few people here reported that their EXPO profiles no longer worked as they did under BIOS version 0606.

Is 0804 improved in that regard? Is it as good and stable as version 0606?

Please feel free to share your findings 😀 .

I am glad someone already made a post!  I stayed on 0606 after reading of all the trouble.  I am far more keen to try 0804 then 0706...   But as usual, I am waiting for the brave ones to go first.  😂

X870E E-Gaming - 9950X3D - MSI Expert 4080 Super - Corsair 6000 cl26, BZ tuned - LG 34GP950G-B, 144hz, 10-bit - Corsair HX850i - Corsair 5000t - All Noctua fans - SMSL 200 DAC - Beyerdynamic DT770 250 - Edifier R1280DBs, T5 Sub

Me too, I stayed on 0606 and more keen to try 0804. Maybe its just because got released on25th dec. Maybe its the Christmas gift we were all waiting for🎅

Sure.

By the way, I was reading the manual and it says Q Code 31 is "Memory Installed" and 4F is "DXE IPL is started". So, it seems to me that these messages should not be considered as errors but as information about the boot process. However, the only thing that remains without a direct solution is the retraining of the memories, every time the PC is restarted, if we use them overclocked. I know of these options to avoid retraining, but in other versions they generated instability, does anyone know if this has improved? How can we avoid the retraining of the memories every time we use them overclocked?

Just installed. EXPO still broken. Will have to wait for one that updates AGESA. 😮💨

Is your ram in the motherboard QVL list? If not use EXPO II instead of EXPO I, then in the bios search "Core tunings Configuration for gaming" set it "Level 1" .

level 2 = auto

Level 1 = configuration of the previous Agesa ver

Legacy = optimezed latency timings but introduce little system instability

I read a reddit post about the latest agesa

I messed up by updating my X870E-E motherboard’s BIOS right after getting it, so I never got to try the pre-0706 version. On 0706, enabling EXPO made the system unbootable. Right now, I’m running 4x16GB at 4600MT/s with manual settings locked in. Anything higher, or turning on EXPO, just won’t boot.

I’ve updated to 0804 now, but I’m still nervous about trying EXPO again. Waiting for others to test it out first before I take the risk.

It doesn't work. When you've excepted it, switch back to 0606. It works way better than the last two

Same as 0706. Back to 0606.
