Sorry if this is a dumb question but...
The Asus x870e-e has a multitude of bios settings that are geared towards overclocking the CPU & Memory. A minimal description of these settings can be found in the Asus x870e-e Bios Manual. I've had many Asus motherboards over the years that I've overclocked. However what I've done only came through user posts that I somewhat understood. A lot of posts I don't understand so I tend to be fairly conservative as to what I change in the bios. That is, I'm pretty sure I've not taken advantage of bios settings where I could achieve even higher CPU & Memory overclocks. From my perspective, this board has even more settings than what I've seen in other Asus motherboards making stable overclocking even more mysterious. For example, the settings in the Extreme Tweaker: DRAM timing control, DDR Turnaround times, DDR PMU Training, Proc Drive Strength, Processor ODT, CA Tx Phase Shift Clk, etc (the list goes on, you get the picture). What are they and how to use?
I've scoured the internet (Asus forums, overclock.net, etc) for some detailed manual of how to use these bios settings but I can't find anything. What I have found is a bunch of articles and some posts describing a few settings in relative detail but nothing that comes even close to being a comprehensive guide. That is, what these bios settings do and how to use them. These leads me to be amazed at how some users become (from my perspective) experts in using these (what I call) esoteric bios settings. Over time did they learn from trial & error and reading/comprehending hundreds of posts?
So my question: Is there some super double secret bios setting guideline/methodology manual that overclocking experts are willing to share? Does Asus themselves have this guide? Why does Asus offer all these settings/tools but offer no detailed guideline as to how to use them? I love the challenge of overclocking. I've been given the tools but no "training" as to how to use them. Thanks to folks who are willing to share their journey to being an overclocking expert!
