Asus Strix X870E-E LAN 5GB

5GB LAN driver is not working, my PC cannot get an IP address from my Modem Router (Bell Giga Hub) when I install the driver (the latest one from Rog Website, armory crate or realtek) but when I uninstall it the network works again and my pc gets a IP address (but it works only with 2.5GB speed not 5GB), I tried to disable the Ethernet EEE, tried to clear cmos. I can't figure it out its defeated me.

the lan controller on this board is really bad.

To have it running stable you are forced to use windows default driver at 2.5Ggbps.

When you run it at 5Gbps with realtek drivers the controller is unstable, leading to packet loss, disconnection ect.

Nothing is being done about this, neither Asus or Realtek are responding, it's been a known issue for years since it seems to just be a tweaked version of the infamous 2.5Gbs Realtek that had the same issue and never got fixed.

So basicly the cheaper X870E Strix F has a better lan being 2.5Gbps but running on an Intel controller.

So i have symmetrical 8Gbs internet at home but can't use only 2.5 , half the advertised speed for my product and unable to add a network card because it's too close to the gpu, litterally being F*** by Asus lack of customer support.

I had that problem to when the adapter is on 1Gbit/s only.

I Solved to disable all Power Saving Functions in den Driver Config (via Device Manager):

- Turn off allowing windows tun device in energy saving

- Advanced Tab:
  - Deactivated: Advanced EEE, Energy Efficent Ethernet, Gigabit Lite, Green Ethernet

I also used the newest Driver without energy saving support from the realtek website:  https://www.realtek.com/Download/List?cate_id=584

Realtek PCIe 1G / 2.5G / 5G / 10G Ethernet Family Controller Software

I'm not sure if it also helps with 5Gbit/s. Maybe its a try.

How long is the lengh of the ethernet cable? and what Category? Cat5E, Cat6, Cat6a?
