Hi everyone,
my build specs:
I received the motherboard few days ago and it had the first BIOS release (v. 0303). After that I updated to the latest release (v. 0706).
I installed the M.2 NVMe disk into the M2_1 slot that is the one located right below the CPU.
I started experiencing a very weird problem. When powering on the pc, everything is ok, Windows loads correctly, but when I reboot the system from inside Windows, it boots into the BIOS and I noticed that the M.2 NVMe disk disappears from the BIOS settings (it is no longer recognized): only way to boot into Windows? Turn off from the power button on the case and turn the PC back on, again from the button.
Then I tried to move the M.2 NVMe disk from M2_1 to M2_4 and...everything works fine! I can finally reboot the PC from inside Windows and it works flawlessly.
Now, I decided to move the M.2 NVMe disk to M2_2 to check if it's related to the CPU lanes and I am experiencing the same issue even on this slot!
I wanna highlight that when using the first release of the BIOS (v. 0303) I didn't had this problem, it started only with the v. 0706.
So what's going on? Is this a BIOS problem? Or a faulty motherboard? It seems that on the M2_1, M2_2 and M2_3 (where CPU lanes are used) the M.2 NVMe disk has this problem while on the M2_4 and M2_5 (where chipset lanes are used) it hasn't any problem.
Thanks for anyone who will help me in finding a solution for this. In the meantime I wish you all a happy new year.
