As the subject says when i put the brand new Ryzen gaming CPU the 7 9800x3d the bios on my new motherboard is laggy, i have upgraded to the latest bios update and its still practically unusable, the CPU performs just fine in windows and in benches so i was hoping someone could help shine light? like will i just need to wait for a new bios update or should i replace the CPU or mobo? CPU i can return to mc within 2 weeks and the mobo i have mc 2 year warranty.

Hi......

I would load factory defaults within the bios then reconfigure, other thing you can do is reflash the latest bios just to rule out any problems with it, then run the minimum amount of hardware possible, disconnect all unneeded devices to ascertain if this is caused by any of your connected devices...

Regards

As stated I'm on latest bios, and it's laggy, I did flash it about 2 times to make sure it wasn't a bad flash or something, and the only thing plugged in is my mouse and keyboard which is basically all I use

It's weird, but I had this happen when I had my Apple wireless charger pluged in. Bios was so slow to navigate. Try unpluging USB devices and see if it helps.

The only thing plugged into it is mouse and keyboard

I have the same board, same CPU and runing the same BIOS version. Try process of elimination. Could be any device acting up. GPU, memory, M.2 drivers, etc... Did you try to unplug your mouse and see if navigating in BIOS with keyboard was beter? And vice versa?

Yea I've tried all of that and also doing clear cmos bc someone online said that they solved it by that, I'm thinking i got super unlucky with the silicon lottery bc I've replaced every single component and the old cpu works fine, so I may just have to return it
