I bought this motherboard maybe 2 weeks ago and have it installed with windows 11 24h2 and while I play games, all my usb devices will slowly drop and “reboot” seems to effect my Aio and Corsair icue link hub too that is connected to my MB. I have the latest BIOS update 0804
I use the performance power plan on windows.
I have reinstalled windows multiple times to try to fix
I'm new to the AM5 family coming from Intel and then AM4 before that.
Any insight would help! Thanks in advance

join the club ... seems usb instability is wide spread on x879e even over at msi ...
I am on thr x870e hero from asus ... mostly issue is impacting my steel series usbc wireless headphones and the thermaltake 3.9" usb screen
I have tried everything firmware drivers etc ... power settings ... expo off ...
seems either an amd chipset issue or agesa issue ...

I bought an internal powered usb hub and so far so good! Only have used it for a few hours but idk.
also seems to be icue related too. All lights cut in and out, very frustrating for a 500$ MB 😭

today ... i did a full reset bios to optimal settings ... and also a cmos reset ... moved the steel series dongle away from a direct port (be it onboard MB or front Panel NOR the one of the gpu 2080ti has usbc too) ... its now on the Corsair Stand as it acts as a usb hub too 🙂 .... and had a good session so far ...
when it gets stuck at lest i no longer need to pull it in and out ... with usbTree i can just click restart PORT
and it comes back ...
SOON NEW BIOS comming out 🙂 maybe it helps

im very interested in the BETA actually given above feedback + my random glitch USB issue is the ONLY problem i CANT solve yet. It happens with or without EXPO ... and even after full CMOS RESET etc...
It happens across all ports no matter where i attach the device ...
It seems to be triggering some port/bus glitch where certain devices then get stuck and need me to detach/attach or go into usbTree and choose PortRestart ....
Devices that trigger the issues are my samsung s24 , my steelseries 7+ USBc Dongle (even when using the normal usb cable extender that comes with it) , and the storage USB stick that comes in the Asus MotherBoard (drivers CD/pendrive) it self when connected to a port
--> Been trying everything to solve it ... no matter what usb devices/ports and headers i disconnect ... usb devices such as
my phone usbc , or my SteelSeries 7+ usb wireless usbc , or my usb1.1 header ports for the thermaltake usb 3.9" screen + AIO screen (connected on different headers)
0706 here with the CROSSHAIR X870E HERO .
Any1 noticed any imporvment on the USB side with this beta bios ?
Will start with the new chipset driver .... then give the beta bios a shot later after work today
... fingers Crossed

Highly highly recommend a powered USB hub like NZXT! I have been 2 days without any devices dropping in and out! Can not guarantee it will take care of your issue but for 28$ on Amazon it’s a decent start!
hope that helps!

I have the same issue with the same setup. My case is the Corsair 7000x RGB and the h170i lcd cooler

occasional and random USB hiccups ? ........ really wish they would solve it .... my bet is that its some chipset or usb driver issue ....
so annoying when your usb headphones stop handling the audio stream ... incredibly the buttons/controls on the headset remain working .... or when the thermaltake 3.9" lcd screen glitches ......
at least it mostly only happens if i reboot not on initial power on ... although if i leave the steelseries headphones dongle connected it will 50/50 happen also on initial power on...

Yeah it's quite weird. A hiccup is a greatway to describe it because it's a momentary outage before all devices reconnect. I hope they read the forums and work out a fix. It's definitely annoying. Especially only a few weeks after I purchased this motherboard. Glad I'm not the only one with the issue. I'm running the 1001 beta bios firmware. I'll update to 1003 and see how it goes.
