Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble with my ASUS ROG STRIX X870-I motherboard, and I’m hoping someone here can help. I recently put together a system using this motherboard, and while it powers on, it won’t post to Windows. Here’s the situation:
System Specs:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX X870-I
CPU: 7800X3D
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL36 AMD EXPO (CMK32GX5M2E6000Z36)
GPU: MSI VGA 16GB RTX4080 VENTUS 3X OC 3DP/HDMI GeForce RTX 4080 16GB VENTUS 3X OC
Storage: Samsung 990 2TB
PSU: Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold, EU Plug - 850W 80 PLUS Gold, Modular Power Supply
What Happens:
The system powers on – fans spin, and LEDs light up.
I can access the BIOS/UEFI interface, but it won’t proceed to boot into Windows.
Sometimes I see a black screen; other times, I get stuck in a boot loop.
What I've Tried:
Resetting CMOS – No change.
Checking Connections – Everything seems secure, including CPU, RAM, and storage.
Testing with Minimal Components – Tried booting with just the CPU, one stick of RAM, and storage.
Reinstalling Windows – Attempted to boot from a USB installer, but it hangs in the process.
Checking for Error Codes/LEDs – The motherboard’s diagnostic lights don’t seem to indicate any specific issue.
Bios update done, newest bios is present
I’m running out of ideas. Has anyone else experienced this with the ASUS ROG STRIX X870-I or a similar board? Could this be a BIOS issue, faulty hardware, or something else I’m overlooking?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m open to troubleshooting tips or things to check next. Thanks in advance!

Hi..
Can you load the expo profile, then drop the memory speed to say 4800mt?

I will try that tomorrow, in the meantime I ordered RAM that is on the QVL, hopefully that will make a difference

I have a x870e hero with 9800x3d and 32gb of Gskill 6000 CL30 which worked with expo 6000 on bios 0606 but after a while I started getting BSOD like too often, ran a memtest and got errors. Tested both sticks one by one with expo and no issue. Tested both with expo off, no issue. As soon as i enabled expo it couldnt be stable anymore.
Yesterday i've updated to BIOS 0706 and whenever I try to enable expo I cant even boot into windows. Feels like the pc is trying to apply the settings but I get pushed back to BIOS with no post. I saw that this is kinda common issue lately with this bios and we need to wait for a new version to fix this issue. Until then, i am running stock speeds on my ram.

Couldn't flash back to 805, it will generate a video issue (white light on Hive).
Did install Linux Mint, this went without any disturbance. No memory glitches or video stutters...
Dont know what to do next, I really want to install Windows on this system
