Hello.
A few days ago, while i was just watching Youtube video (no mouse or keyboard usage at that moment), my system suddenly froze during idle. After hitting the reset button on the case, the system restarted but no display appeared, it was only the black screen. The motherboard Q-LED showed 00 code and the yellow DRAM LED was always on.
Things i tried:

I’ve read that some users have faced issues related to CPU batch codes. I’m wondering if my problem might be related to that, and would love to hear if anyone has experience or advice regarding batch-related CPU faults.
I’m not sure if there’s a problem with the CPU, so I haven’t initiated an RMA for it yet. However, in my communication with the service team, they asked me to send it in, as they will likely inspect it. I’m still unsure whether i should send the CPU right now, especially since the motherboard is currently at the service center.

Appreciate any advice or assistance, thanks!

Update:
Hey again, here's an update regarding my motherboard issue:
I sent my motherboard (ROG STRIX B850-E Gaming WiFi) to ASUS via official RMA on August 27. It was returned to me on August 29 with a note stating:
“Display was received from motherboard. BIOS updated to version 1078.”
Unfortunately, the issue still persists exactly the same - no display/black screen, Q-CODE stuck on code “00”, yellow DRAM LED always on.
Here is the photo showing that the motherboard returned from the service is still exhibiting the same error and not functioning properly: https://imgur.com/9IGgFY6
I suspect this is a deeper hardware-level fault (possibly related to the PCB traces or DIMM slots), but the service only did a BIOS update and sent it back.
I’m planning to contact ASUS executive support but, Is executivecare@asus.com the correct email address to contact for this hardware RMA issue? I want to make sure I reach the right department before sending my motherboard back again or possibly my CPU for warranty service.
Also the RMA status on their system hasn’t even been updated it still shows “awaiting device delivery” even though I already received the board back.
I’ll probably have to send it again and ask for a full inspection or possibly request a replacement.
If anyone has been through something similar, or knows if ASUS ever acknowledges issues related to DRAM/CPU signal faults like this, I’d love to hear.
Additionally, I originally sent the motherboard packaged in its shipping box, but when I received it back, the shipping box was missing. The motherboard arrived only wrapped in a thin protective film (like a plastic wrap or razor-sharp protective sheet). Moreover, I noticed some dirt and oil-like stains on certain parts of the motherboard, which concerns me regarding the handling and care during the service process.
Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated! Thanks!
Mobo returned to me still same issue with same cpu & ram

I installed the CPU properly two months ago, and i am not sure how this happened. It might be from overheating or something else. I also noticed some light blue spots, but i'm not sure if they are normal or not.
There is no bent pin or damage here

i had an issue on a different board, i was getting yellow lights and i used a different brand of ram and it worked
but i suspect your psu is the culprit here, you have stated gpu is overclocked (oc)model along with your low latency sticks . 550w is the minimum asus states for overclocked. however i feel that estimate is too low. personally id use a 750 watt psu with your setup
one way to test for sure is remove the gpu and plug display into the 9800x3d igpu using motherboard hdmi slot

I dont have different ram, mobo or cpu to test with. If I had any of these, I could quickly diagnose where the problem is. The PSU can sometimes be the issue, but I believe it's working fine because I'm currently using it in another system without any problems.
I also tested the system without the GPU and tried using the motherboard's DisplayPort, but the issue remained the same.
I had removed the CPU and tested it, but in that case, the motherboard doesn't start up which is expected. So either there's a problem between the CPU and RAM data bus on the motherboard, an issue with the VRMs or MOSFETs, or lastly, there might be an invisible fault in the CPU itself, possibly in the memory controller or elsewhere.
I’ve contacted both the store where I bought it and AMD. Good thing that there are no signs of burning, cracks, or liquid damage on the CPU. That’s at least one less thing to worry about, and it should help speed up the resolution.
There doesn't seem to be any other explanation for why the motherboard isn't starting. However, in the service report, they said they were able to get a display output from the motherboard, and that they updated the BIOS from version 0326 to 1078. But I'm still getting the same issue.
I think I'll have to send the motherboard back to the service center again, but the problem is, I still can't be sure whether the issue is actually with the Motherboard or CPU.
Some people suggest going to a PC technician-Store, and I do know some in my area, but I can't fully trust them. There's always a risk they might accidentally (or even intentionally) damage something — like scratching the board or knocking off an SMD component. On the other hand, I also understand why a technician might hesitate to help, since if there's an issue with my CPU or motherboard, it could damage their test components. I just can’t take that risk. I am not gonna do that.

you mentioned that the psu can sometimes be the issue , im confused by what you mean here
can you explain further?
08-31-2025 06:26 AM
Ah, sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that while PSUs can sometimes be the cause of issues in general, in my case I don't think it is, since this PSU is currently running fine in my another system. So I’m not suspecting it specifically, just acknowledging it’s a possible issue in general.

Hello ROGn7csy68vwrje
Shut down your pc and unplug the power supply cable.
Install one stick of ram in the A2 slot (2nd slot from the cpu), clear the cmos then try booting up.

I already did everything
No matter what I try, the motherboard keeps showing the 00 Q-CODE and the yellow DRAM LED. The Q-CODE remains stuck at 00 and doesn’t change throughout the process.

same here with me.. no luck at all

Have you tried reflashing/updating the bios?
You can do this with the bios flashback feature, if you need help just say so and I'll list steps how to do it.

I had been using BIOS version 0326 on the motherboard since I purchased it, and it had been running with that version for approximately two months. I sent the motherboard to ASUS service, and according to their report, they updated the BIOS to version 1078, which is currently the latest available version. They said the motherboard was tested with a monitor, and it successfully booted into Windows. Since the BIOS has already been updated by the service team, there is no need for me to update it again.
Also I RMA'd my CPU today and I'm waiting for response. I hope the issue is with the CPU, not the motherboard or RAM.
