There is a new wave of BIOS releases coming up.
I found this article mentioning how Asus will be the first to come out with the new AGESA 1.2.0.3.
I'm curious how everyone is getting along. I'm using the X870E E-Gaming with 0804, and feel lucky.
What BIOS are you using? Will you be trying the new wave of releases?

They are in beta will wait for an official release but I did notice one user have a positive outcome with EMPO.
"1001 allows me to use EXPO (any setting) again, this wasn't working from me after 0606 on my X870E-E GAMING WIFI. I do now see the missing/unknown item in device manager now, but otherwise everything seems stable and an improvment."

As far as the unknown device is concerned, you probably have to reinstall the ITE UCM drivers package (you already (re-)installed the latest AMD Chipset drivers v7.01.08.129, right?).
ITE UCM drivers seem to be named UCM Client Peripheral Driver V1.3.8.17 for your Crosshair (it is called ITE UCM DRIVER V1.3.8.17 for the STRIX X870E-E but seems to be the same thing, same version number, too).
As far as the topic is concerned, I will be waiting for a non-beta version for my STRIX 870E-E. I'm still on BIOS 0606 and everything is running fine. I'm not in an experimental mood 😁 and there wasn't really anything in the notes for BIOS version 0706 and 0804 that seemed to be a must-have.
Good to hear that the EXPO issues of 0706 and 0804 seem to be fixed in the 1001 Beta as that has been my main blocker for upgrading. I will wait for a finished BIOS 1xxx version though. No rush.

Did you ever find out what that device unknown is or did it go away?

Yep, 1001 has been the best update for me since 0606. Allows Expo settings, seems very stable, benchmarks solid and actual games play great. Only issue is the unknown hardware but it sounds like that is for the next wave of AMD cpus coming and will require a driver update, so no biggie.

guys ... im very interested in the BETA actually given above feedback + my random glitch USB issue is the ONLY problem i CANT solve yet. It happens with or without EXPO ... and even after full CMOS RESET etc...
It happens across all ports no matter where i attach the device ...
It seems to be triggering some port/bus glitch where certain devices then get stuck and need me to detach/attach or go into usbTree and choose PortRestart ....
Devices that trigger the issues are my samsung s24 , my steelseries 7+ USBc Dongle (even when using the normal usb cable extender that comes with it) , and the storage USB stick that comes in the Asus MotherBoard (drivers CD/pendrive) it self when connected to a port
--> Been trying everything to solve it ... no matter what usb devices/ports and headers i disconnect ... usb devices such as
my phone usbc , or my SteelSeries 7+ usb wireless usbc , or my usb1.1 header ports for the thermaltake usb 3.9" screen + AIO screen (connected on different headers)
0706 here with the CROSSHAIR X870E HERO .
Any1 noticed any imporvment on the USB side with this beta bios ?
Will start with the new chipset driver .... then give the beta bios a shot later after work today 🙂 ... fingers Crossed 🙂

I personally haven't experienced (or at least noticed) any USB issues so I can't comment on that, but I can say 1001 beta bios seems worth trying - improvement for me. Make sure you get the chipset driver as well and see if it helps! Sounds like you don't have much to lose if it doesn't fix it, I don't think it will get worse! 🙂
