X670E Wifi motherboard RAM only running in 3600 Mhz regardless of settings

Hello,

i have X670E Gaming Wifi motherboard, and i have installed 128 GB (32 GB x 4) Corsair Dominator 6000 Mhz CL30 EXPO RAMs.

The EXPO is not working, when i enable it, the boot gets stuck and i get Red Light. Then i have to remove the battery and boot into the bios.

How do i configure it?

I read somewhere on the forums that i could manually set FCLK to around 2000 Mhz and then set DDR5 to 6000 Mhz. I tried FCLK 2000 and DDR5 - 5000 Mhz but Windows still shows 3600 Mhz. I have included the pictures..

Hello mrsans

You're having issues because you're combining two memory kits.

Suggest to use one memory kit in the A2-B2 slots.

They are all corsair dominator ram of same set.

do you mean ... there are 2 RAM from 1 and 2 from other, i need to put in some order?

currently pc is functioning but at 3600 MHZ, the bios says 4800 MHZ but at bootup screen shows 128 GB 3600 MHZ like startup statement..

Use one kit, not two. Regardless of what the part numbers are. Memory kits are binned and validated in the density in which they are sold. Article here

Ok so, i have 4 RAM with same part number, each 32 GB, how do i sort it,, Is EXPO not valid?

Is it called 2 kit?

That is exactly what I am saying. You cannot combine kits and expect overclocking to work. It requires a reasonable understanding of memory OC. It's all explained in the aforementioned link.

i read somewhere i can manually overcloak it?

how to proceed now? i am intending to use the RAM which said it has 6000 MHz with CL30 Expo.

Ok,

First, you'll want to pair up your memory kits, the serial numbers can sometimes help with this.

Once you have your two memory kits paired up:

1) With your pc shut down and the power supply cable unplugged, install one memory kit in the A2-B2 slots (2nd and 4th slots from the cpu).

2) Press and hold the clear cmos button for 3 seconds.

3) Start your pc.

If you're able to boot to the bios and windows, great.

4) Go back into the bios, on the Ai Tweaker page, set the Ai Overclock Tuner to EXPO.

5) Hit F10 and Enter to save and exit.

If it doesn't boot, then manual voltage tuning will be needed.

hello, i did as you said, it booted into windows,

but when i set expo it shows posted into safe mode on bios bootup.. what do i do? manual voltage tuning means i need to put 1.40 like expo there?

edit : oh i need to put only 1, i put 2, ...... i sorted them based upon serial numbers, it has 50 and 51 serial and other has 24...
let me recheck and get back to you..

I would opt to put 1 matched pair of DIMMs in slot A1/A2 and other in B1/B2. This worked well for me when using 4 DIMMs which were not a 4 DIMM matched kit.

EXPO is unlikely to work straight up with 128GB. Even if you went and got matched 4 DIMM kit. Especially closer to 6000MHz.

This user on OCN got 128GB working at 6000MHz, he even got decent setup on 192GB.

ZenTimings on dual rank DIMMs may not show right resistances, so you may need to find settings that work for you, plus the motherboards differs to yours which also has a bearing on resistances.
