For a decade I had my Sabertooth 990FX connected to my HIFI DAC by Coaxial using the small daughter board supplied and a 10 meter coxial cable teminating in a gold BNC connector and this worked without fail.
In my X670E Hero I have a TENDACK Tosslink to Coaxial convertor to allow me to play music as before.
But it keeps momentarily dropping out - it's fairly random but every 10 seconds or so (it varies there is rythmic pattern to it) the sound stops for what feels like a fraction of a second.
I spotted that other have been having the same or similar issues with the S/PDIF output from this board, but I could not find a definitive answer.
Armoury crate is happy that all is up to date, EZ suite is up to date (where did ASUS EZ bios update go?) and windows is not nagging me about anything.
I've used the Latency Monitor as suggested on another thread in this forum and it reports the PC is fine for rela time audio (which I think is more about recording than playback)
The Realtek driver version is 6.3.9600.2342
Is this a know fault with these boards?
