Hi all,
I would like to get some further insights into expected X670E or X870E chipset temperatures. The chipset temperature readings I am getting on my system are a bit on the high side, as illustrated in the image below:
Both chipsets will generally be around 80 degrees when the system is idle, with the ability to rise higher in some situations. The minimum 40 degrees C readings originate from when the system has just woken up from sleep. They will soon climb back up.
Critically, I have got NVMe drives connected to both of the chipset-fed NVMe slots. (4TB Corsair MP600 Pro, 4TB Samsung 990 Pro). I am using a Gen 5 drive in the first, CPU-powered slot.
I would like to know if this is normal, as I have not found any chipset-specific operating temperature specs, and what kinds of temperatures other users with both their chipset NVMe slots filled are seeing.
Thanks!

That's not normal. This is my X870E Taichi with Diablo 4 running and multiple Chrome tabs.
Some people replace the thermal pads on the chipset to fix just that.

Thanks for the reply. Have you got all your NVMe slots filled as well?

I have an RTX 4090, SATA HD drive and three M.2s AND a 10GB Lan card in second PCI-E slot.
