x670e extreme

Hi all, I opened this new discussion because I noticed that many users with this card and perhaps also with others of the x670e series are having problems with the thunderbolt ports, slowdowns in acquiring information when running programs such as hwmonitor cpuz or simply when starting windows when background programs are loaded to control fan led etc.

The problem can only be solved by disabling the thunderbolt ports from the bios. "Bios>Advanced>AMD PBS> Thunderbolt / USB4 Support" It would be helpful to know if you are taking steps to fix via bios or drivers, or do we have to send our boards back to make a refund?

I'm also having the exact same issues as listed above. I have resolved them by disabling the Thunderbolt/USB4 option in BIOS. And while that is a workaround it is not a solution. I'd like to see this fixed soon. It's amazing to me that on a x670e Extreme that this is still an issue after 6+ months of being on the market.

Thank you for this post ! I suspected it was a sensor that was causing the issue. I never had this previously and found this to be the same for all X670E platforms. Whenever you have an app that has to read a sensor like L-Connect , Armour crate , AIDA , CPU / GPU z , HWinfo / HWMonitor your pc would grind to a standstill.

I am disabling this right now .

Thanks again.

Hello, happy to have helped you.... But this fact of disabling a hardware component to make a motherboard work correctly is only a way to get around a problem, which however must be solved upstream, I don't know if through the driver or through the bios , I just know that someone has to do something... What motherboard are you using and what bios? We collect information and report the problem en masse to asus... Because we all bought this motherboard because it had certain features including working thunderbolt ports that don't give any problems, so it seems right to me that we don't have to disable them to make them not work the pc as a computer from 1995...

X670E Extreme with the latest BIOS ( updated over the weekend  )

Also I have the same hardware and bios, however also other users with other cards of the asus line have problems, I try to contact them in order to collect more info...

Hello

I have ASUS ProArt X670E Creator  WiFI MB and don´t have that kind of problems with Thunderbolt 4.

Not necessary for me to disable it in BIOS.

Maybe I´m lucky but for me this MB has been running flawlessly from day 1.

Hope that ASUS could fix the problem.

Crosshair Extreme X670E no problems with USB. BIOS V1101 04/10/23 except my rudder pedals have to be unplugged and replugged.

Thank you all for your feedback on this issue. Probably it would seem a hardware problem of some controller mounted only on some boards, can you let me know on what date your motherboard was built? You can simply look at it in the box on the label where the serial number is written, for example mine is from 11-2022... maybe yours are more recent or older, it would be interesting to know this. Let me know
