X670E Extreme Crashing GPU Driver once a day and need reboot on Windows 11.

Hello everyone, I am facing a problem that my computer freezes once a day and needs hard rebooting.

Build: X670E Extreme + 4090 Strix + 7950x  + 6000hz 32*2 DDR5, Windows 11 22H2

Problems: When I turn on the computer for the first time every day, my computer starts to freeze after running for 20-30 minutes (no blue screen, all programs can be clicked but extremely slow). At this time I try to shut down, but the system cannot be shut down, the motherboard lights and fans were still working. At this time, there is only hard rebooting (unplugging the power supply), rebooting, and the machine can run well for the rest of the day.

Error Code: Because my computer has never had a blue screen, it is difficult for me to collect error information, but I still saw Error Code: LiveKernelEvent 141; LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys_Ada in the maintenance record. It appears to be a GPU driver issue.

Solutions have already tried, but all failed:

1. Completely reinstall the Windows and totally earse the hard drive.

2. Unplug the memory and reinstall it, and run the memory test, which shows that the memory is ok.

3. Unplug the graphics card and reinstall it.

4. Disable the fast booting options.

All these methods fail. Could anyone help me or have a similar problem?

Just some food for Thought. I have several friends that are experiencing hardware issues all related to Windows 11 crashing on audio and gpu faults with the AMD CPU mother Boards. I have just finished my Build with the Crosshair X670E Extreme with AMD R9 7950X3D, Corsair Dominator 6000MHz 64GB DDR5, Strix RTX4090 OC, Thor 1200W and Ryujin III  AIO. My Friends are recommending to me to use Windows 10 instead of Windows 11 due to all the hardware crashes that they are experiencing with Windows 11.  As food for thought your issues maybe an operating system issue as Windows 11 is currently not playing nice.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, excluding the current freeze problem I face, my company VPN cannot work on Windows 11 at this moment. However, my old PC which is originally Windows 10 and upgraded to Windows 11 can still use the VPN. Thus I am sure Windows 11 is really bad...

And I notice that our build is extremely the same except I am using 7950x not x3d, may I know if have you ever faced any problems currently?

Just flashed my bios to the newest 1415 using bios flashback OLED Panel says successfully updated. About to start the system , but was internally debating Windows 10 or Windows 11.  Decided I am going to go with Windows 10 based on what my friends are describing and hardware crashes in windows 11. downloading Windows 10 install media to USB.  After  Win 10  install and all drivers updated to the very latest from ASUS I will post back with an update. I almost went with the 7950x over the 7950X3D but after talking to a  PC Builder at the Store I purchased my CPU and GPU from, He Stated from a purely Creators/ Productivity view point the 7950x is great and it will preform well in gaming. From a Gamers view point the 7950X3D will also preform very well for the Creator and even better for  the gamer. Since I do a larger balance of gaming with some creative design work for my woodworking shop as I design my own cabinets and furniture with some productivity work in there for billing and material accruements I went with the 7950X3D. I hope that you resolve the issues that you are experiencing and I hope that my install of Windows today is faultless.

Update just finished installing windows 10 added in all drivers had an issue with the VGA driver from the usb drive that came with the Crosshair X670E Extreme.  Finally got Windows 10 to accept vga driver. Started having flickering issue with the Strix 4090 OC and black screen to the point of reset button being pushed using DP cable and single monitor . Updated to latest Nvidia driver via Geforce Control panel. Also updated firmware on the GPU from the Asus support page. Issue is now even worse with more video crashing. Not happy Right now. Seems that Asus hardware is not compatible with Asus hardware. Asus Crosshair X670E Extreme , Asus Strix RTX 4090 OC. Asus Thor 1200W Plat II psu. Corsair Dominator 6000MHz still set at 4800MHz. As I have not enabled expo yet.   Can not get to the point of installing any software  to control fans or the Ryujin AIO as my system  crashes to black screen sometimes comes back up but no event log is being triggered. And the flickering is just horrible. I will purchase new 1.4 DP cables and try again to get everything in. Was able to fully update windows 10 with all updates.

Sounds like a faulty / not up to spec DP cable. Replace this first before jumping to conclusions

13900KS / 8000 CAS36 / ROG APEX Z790 / ROG TUF RTX 4090

I replaced the DP cable with a J5 Create 6.6ft 8K UHD DP 1.4 HBR3 certified cable, brand new . Twice now system has crashed with Black Screen. Right before crash monitor began flickering very badly.  Strix RTX4090 OC GPU. GPU has latest Nvidia drivers installed 536.40 Geforce Experience  , Firmware updated to the latest from ASUS listed on 4090 support page to V2.1 . As I typed this on this PC the other new PC crashed to black screen with flickering right before crash that results in auto restart of windows. Also now flickering on log in Screen for Windows. Very frustrating. 5 crashes since I started to reply to this post. Event log included

Hardware Asus X670E Crosshair Extreme, Asus Strix RTX 4090 OC , Asus Thor 1200W PSU, Corsair DDR5  2x 32GB = 64GB 6000MHz, in A2/B2 slots on MB AIO Asus Ryujin III 360 argb.

AMD Software : Adrenalin Edition was missing display Adaptor in Windows 10 until that Software installed.

Windows device manager now list two separate display adaptors

Nvidia Geforce RTX4090

AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics

Today struggled with installing ICUE 5.3 and then Armoury Crate 3.2.7.2

Hi, could you use whocrashed (there are some free versions that can be downloaded on the internet) to generate the crash report? The current problem you meet is that when you use your computer, your monitor starts flickering and black screen randomly?

Cause you are using Windows 10 so I am not sure whether the problem is related to the system and driver. However, recently I got some information from a Chinese forum that Windows 11 has released some updates to fix the GPU driver problem, which is about the black screen and dead driver. I suspect that it may be that the new hardware equipment has not been updated on windows 10. Now I feel that these hardware manufacturers and software manufacturers cannot go hand in hand, and the quality of the software is very worrying.

I will look into whocrashed and dl it after the holiday.  I did notice that after installing Armory Crate that Armory crate showed that many of my drivers/ software were outdated and Armory Crate updated those drivers and software. Which is funny the Support web page for the Crosshair Extreme does not show the newest versions that Armory Crate down loaded and installed. Asus should keep the support tabs and pages up to date as most all users will go there to get the latest drivers and firmware along with bios. Since Armory Crate has updated every thing the flickering has not occurred today. Biggest change was on the UCM Client once that updated system really stabilized.

Then as I was buttoning every thing up I noticed the the Audio Cable for the Front panel for the ROG Hyperion  GR701 has the black wire not connected to the crimp metal piece in the male plug. Hoping that I do not have to RMA the Whole GR701 case. Will submit a trouble ticket to see if I can get an new front panel or cable  verses a new case. That would be a pain in the Arse to take MB , AIO, GPU and PSU out over a quality control issue that missed that the wires were not crimped into the connect to MB. Will See what ASUS says tomorrow morning as today is holiday in USA.  good thing is that i have all the OEM boxes and all the packing still. Been less than a month as I was waiting on AIO from Hong Kong to begin the build.

Update after install of all Windows drivers some done manually and firmware update on the GPU along Bios to 1415 with upgrading not only the DP cables to 1.4 cables to ensure compatibility and before tipping over my high end curved monitor and having to replace it. The system stabilized out . After I also replaced the 1080 p monitor that flickering was occurring on with two LG 32 inch 2560 x 1440 165hz  was on sale at Costco. So now I get so start up lag and system will not wake up from sleep like the Mother board does not recognize signal from keyboard or mouse if it is sleeping annoying as hell. So many bugs with a 1000.00 dollar mother board. Never had these types of issues before with ASUS. So in summary the flickering is gone most likely bad drivers and a DP cable going out. Then I tipped over the monitor changing the ****** DP cable like a fool. Miss that curved monitor already but the FPS in game so far is beyond belief  now to fix the rest of the issues what ever maybe causing them. a bit in to deep is how I feel.
