X670E Extreme Crashing GPU Driver once a day and need reboot on Windows 11.

Hello everyone, I am facing a problem that my computer freezes once a day and needs hard rebooting. 

Build: X670E Extreme + 4090 Strix + 7950x  + 6000hz 32*2 DDR5, Windows 11 22H2

Problems: When I turn on the computer for the first time every day, my computer starts to freeze after running for 20-30 minutes (no blue screen, all programs can be clicked but extremely slow). At this time I try to shut down, but the system cannot be shut down, the motherboard lights and fans were still working. At this time, there is only hard rebooting (unplugging the power supply), rebooting, and the machine can run well for the rest of the day.

Error Code: Because my computer has never had a blue screen, it is difficult for me to collect error information, but I still saw Error Code: LiveKernelEvent 141; LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys_Ada in the maintenance record. It appears to be a GPU driver issue.

Solutions have already tried, but all failed:

1. Completely reinstall the Windows and totally earse the hard drive. 

2. Unplug the memory and reinstall it, and run the memory test, which shows that the memory is ok.

3. Unplug the graphics card and reinstall it.

4. Disable the fast booting options.

All these methods fail. Could anyone help me or have a similar problem?

Thanks for confirming. Can you confirm if the crash event log is the same every time or different stop codes?

Thanks a lot. From 16 May to 24 Jun, every day I faced a freeze problem but I only got 2 blue screens in total. All the error code is DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (113). However, in the dump file, the reporting mistake is not the same. For the previous one is about the ACPI (power management drive?) and today is kerneld.x64. 

Here I use whocrashed to generate a dump file analysis, please have a check:

I checked the CPU installation carefully to make sure there is no problem. Today I encountered a lag again. This time I observed the system myself again and conducted some tests:

Background: First of all, my computer is connected to an AIO with a system information display. When the system freezes, the AIO information display will be extremely stuck. I usually use it to judge whether my computer is stuck.

The running status of the computer when it freezes:

1. The music is playing normally without obvious lag. Although there was a situation where the music was stuck when the computer was frozen before, today I found that the music played very smoothly. It may be because I used a music player software instead of a web page to play, so the music is in the memory. /CPU has been loaded.

2. When I opened the task manager, I noticed that there was a 'system interrupt' process that took up 47% of the CPU performance, but when the task manager was fully opened, the 'system terminal' occupation rate dropped to 7 %about.

3. When I was stuck in the computer, I chose to disable the 4090 graphics card directly in the device manager. Although the system was in the black screen stage, I found that the information on the AIO began to change, and the conversion was relatively smooth, which proved that the system freeze problem might be relieved.

In general, according to my current test, I personally think that after the graphics card itself is powered off overnight, there is a problem with the connection between the graphics card and the system (driver problem?) or the loading of the graphics card itself (hardware problem). Tried to reinstall the graphics card driver (completely reinstalled windows 3 times), but the lag still occurs every day.

But I can't rule out the problem of the motherboard first, because when the system is shut down, the motherboard light remains constant, which proves that the main board has not received the system shutdown message.

So I wanted to ask everyone if it's possible that this is a hardware issue, if it is a hardware issue I might be completely unable to use my computer for work for 1-2 weeks which is very frustrating.

Can you try manually switching PCIE to Gen 3.0 in the BIOS and see if this helps?

1) I thought you'd already updated the VBIOS, but can't seem to see where you'd posted it. Can you ensure you've running v2.1

2) Try setting the GPU to Max Performance under Power Management in the Nvidia control panel, report back if this seems to remedy the problem.

3) Ensure the GPU is not sagging or use the supplied support mount to ensure the card isn't putting too much pressure on the PCIE slot

4) Try disabling PCIE Link State Power Management via Control Panel > Power Options >PCI Express > Link State Power Management

Thanks a lot, and all these methods I have tried don't work. And I have one quick update, last night I downgraded the bios version from 1415 to 1303, today, after the first boot of the computer 20-30 minutes, the computer didn't freeze. However, I leave for a break around 40 minutes after the computer boot and the computer enters sleep mode. When I back and wake the PC from sleep mode, I notice the computer reboot, and there is a blue screen code which is related to the GPU driver. 

Anyway, the problem still remains, but there may have some changes. I think it is related to the motherboard bios problem. I will monitor my computer tomorrow and update any information. Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi everyone, I think the first boot freeze problem has been solved, as it doesn't occur for 3 days. The only thing I do is downgrade the bios version from 1415 to 1303. Thus I am pretty sure there is some problem related to the bios 1415.

Meanwhile, when I am using bios 1303, I also notice some problem which is when I boot my computer, in the Windows login page, my computer first use the igpu(low resolution), and after 5-10 seconds, the dgpu starts (correct resolutions), and the armoury create cannot detect my dgpu. After disabling igpu in bios, everything works fine.

Considering this problem only happens at bios 1303, not 1415, I think the problem has been solved. However, I hope the engineer can solve the first boot freeze problem in the next version.
