Hi all, was wondering if anyone was having issues upgrading from a 7800x3d to 9800x3d. Updated to latest 2506 bios prior to install and swapped out the CPUs, and installed the latest AMD chipset. The 9800x3d seems to be working at stock, but once I enable expo 1 OC settings, it goes completely unstable, games crashing at launch, blue screens galore. Think it has to do with RAM, but I had a completely stable system with the 7800x3d. My ram is the G.skill trident F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR, and it's definitely been on the support memory list for quite some time.
Anyone with similar issues?

Same here. 7950X3D perfectly stable with the same RAM kits and X670E Extreme board. Updated BIOS to 2506 and switched to 9800X3D a week ago and I have been trying to fix the BSODs/crashes/freezes with EXPO on ever since.
What does NOT work: reinstalling OS, changing RAM kits (oh I tried a lot of different kits and brands), restoring BIOS to 2403, leaving PBO at auto, setting PBO at enhancement - 90/80/70 degress Celsius, clocking FCLK to 2000 instead of Asus default 2100, downclocking GPU etc.
What does work: Turning on EXPO I and then downclocking from 6000 to 5800. It's less than ideal I know, but I do not want to go to the lengths to ask for a RMA for the 9800X3D or the X670E board.

I played all day yesterday on the sim. I'm using EXTREME X670E board, the new 9800X3D, GSkill Trident Z5 RGB 64GB(2x32)288-pin PC RAM DDR5(PC5 48000) F5-6000J3238G32GX2-TZ5NR(CL32-38-38-96 1.40V). I would try MemTest86 on your memory modules one at a time. This machine never worked so good nor was ever this fast. Avoiding bifurcation I think has been a big benefit as well as the new BIOS V.2403 that allows EXPO1 and 2 settings. EXPO Ⅱ in my case and stable at 6000MHz.

Just wanted to update. I decided to buy a new ram kit ( kingston fury beast KF560C36BBEAK2-32)to test and it's been stable for a couple days now with expo I enabled, and a +200 OC -30 all core curve. I'm on bios ver 2506.

Also having issues on the X670e E gaming Wifi with the 9800x3d. Using Ram Model# F5-6000J3040G32GX2-TZ5NR in expo and any manual OC in the BIOS will cause Ram instability BSODs. Ryzen Master however works but can't adjust everything in the one OC.

That's good memory. I presume you MemTest86'd your individual DIMM's?

I did some over the weekend. Using Ryzen Master with the -25 curve offset and PBO, the memory passed fine. When manual making the changes in the BIOS, including scalar and +200 frequency offset, failures in test 7 and test 8. Could this be something to do with the curve optimiser and the scalar changing voltage of the IMC and there being an issue there? This also included a test where I increased voltage by .25 MV and it caused more errors. I want to OC but now with the included headache of even a basic OC not working, I may just stick with Ryzen Master as it's stable and just works.

I don't venture beyond the EXPOⅡsettings because in the past I've had those issues. Originally the X670E-Extreme board would run 6000MHz but the newer BIOS were cutting out those settings because people were burning the up overclocking. The latest BIOS v.2403 reinstates those EXPO setting again and it's working perfectly with 9800X3D and you have the same memory as me accept it's CL30 where mine's 32. I couldn't imagine wtf?

And Ryzen Master created problems for me and the sim would crash while it was running.

Best to establish memory stability at EXPO before making any adjustments to the CPU's voltage/frequency curve. What you're looking for is if the system can pass initially with nothing adjusted besides EXPO. Test both EXPO I & 2, as often 2 can provided more relaxed memory subsets (can help with stability).

X670E-E @ BIOS 2603, 9800X3D (+200MHz, -25 curve) and G.Skill F5-6000J3040G32G (2x32GB)
Expo I and manual timings & subtimings. Running stable, but my latency is far too high for these settings.
