ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

explanation of segment2 Loadline:

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

To confirm, RD have replicated this and will be deploying a fix

Hello,

on OCN, yesterday,  I mentionned a bug I have with 2505 beta.

https://www.overclock.net/posts/29386864/

When I am in bios at "Save profile user" menu and want to save a .cmo of my bios settings (With F2) on a USB key, this is a pure mess.

Bios becomes completely frozen (I can't move the mouse cursor and no key is responding on the keyboard). I have to shut down PC with power button.

It happens as soon as I press "Enter" to save the .cmo on the USB key, or, it happens at the next step when I want to exit of the Bios to restart the computer.

It doesn't happen when I want to save a .txt file of my Bios settings with ctrl+F2.

Only when trying to save a .cmo file.

It happens also at stock settings, whatever the USB key brand I use and whatever the USB port on my PC.

my USB ports are working perfectly in Windows.

It seems I am not alone as anotehr guy confirmed the issue.

PS : you can see my rig in signature of my OCN posts.

Maybe this has been fixed ago. I'll put it this way, on Tuesday there were already Version 2506 internally, but not for the public. Unfortunately, whatever is fixed is not always communicated.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D | ROG CROSSHAIR X670E EXTREME | ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition | Corsair CMP64GX5M2B6000Z30 (6200 MT/s) | WD Black SN850X | PHANTEKS Glacier One 360 T30 Gen2 | LG OLED42C27LA | Phanteks NV7 | Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 ATX 3.1 Noctua Edition | Windows 11 Pro.

2506/3057 for all 670/670E boards are currently on the Google Drive page.

In the Thunderbolt Control Center for the Asus X670E Hero, it shows I have Thunderbolt 4 (1137) controller on version 38 firmware (I'm currently using the latest BIOS 2505).

However, I have a ZikeDrive USB4 enclosure that will not work past legacy speeds and they said the Thunderbolt controller REQUIRES at least version 46.1 or higher to work correctly.  Would you be able to update to the required version or higher in the BIOS so these new drives will work correctly. Thanks so much!

We already had the Thunderbolt topic here. Thunderbolt 4 was removed from the specifications and swapped for USB4.

But even USB4 data rate of 40 Gbps is only used for monitors and not for data transmission. It will be Support USB4 Gen 2x1 Support.

To date, ASUS has NEVER officially commented on this. Many people think it has to do with the license because of AMD. But to this day this topic is simply a big question mark.

One thing is certain: Thunderbolt has been removed from the main pages!

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D | ROG CROSSHAIR X670E EXTREME | ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition | Corsair CMP64GX5M2B6000Z30 (6200 MT/s) | WD Black SN850X | PHANTEKS Glacier One 360 T30 Gen2 | LG OLED42C27LA | Phanteks NV7 | Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 ATX 3.1 Noctua Edition | Windows 11 Pro.

Thanks. I guess my issue is that the ZikeDrive uses the Asmedia ASM2464PD chipset, and whenever I plug it in, I receive a pop-up error of "USB4 device functionality might be limited. Make sure the USB4 device you're connecting to is supported by your PC.". I've tried a multitude of different cables and tried both USB4 ports on the back.

Using the AsMedia Tool, it shows the Mode as "Legacy" and not even 3.2 speeds. So, my question is, how do I make this USB4 drive work as USB4 without error (regardless of thunderbolt).  Zike support simply replied to this issues saying thunderbolt firmware needed to be upgraded for it to work (but I imagine that shouldnt be the case).

Yes, because in the BIOS you only have 2 options by JHL8540 Chip: No Security, USB Only. In order to use Thunderbolt you have to select security, which is not possible with us because none is available.

Nobody can really help you further, as ASUS has not yet commented on it. Actually, both USB-C ports are almost useless for us.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D | ROG CROSSHAIR X670E EXTREME | ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC Edition | Corsair CMP64GX5M2B6000Z30 (6200 MT/s) | WD Black SN850X | PHANTEKS Glacier One 360 T30 Gen2 | LG OLED42C27LA | Phanteks NV7 | Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 ATX 3.1 Noctua Edition | Windows 11 Pro.

But the drive should be a USB4 drive and not a "Thunderbolt Drive". Is the ASM2464PD chipset not compatible with the JHL8540? Or is this an issue with the implementation of the firmware for drive using the ASM2464PD by Zike?

I really don't know anyone who uses them because no one really has a plan for what the 2 connections actually do.
