ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options
to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake
ocpak/octools
FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter
Test BIOSes:
new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
strixe-e 1515
for crosshair and strix e-e:
explanation of segment2 Loadline:
customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.
example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.
Adds for x3d
dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok
Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4
Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide
works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Hey Everyone, is EZ Update available and compatible with X670 platform? I would love to replace the boot logo or at least have that functionality in BIOS if @SAFEDISK and the gang are up for it. Also correct the typo pointed out by someone else few replies above 🙂

I used to use CapLogo.exe included in EZ Update to modify logos. However this seems not to work any more since a while and never worked for me for any newser X670 platform.
Instead I am using UEFITool 0.28 which seems to work fine loading the CAP files and replacing the logo components. However I would prefer a simple tool doing only logo replacement and eventually doing it via command-line (batch-mode) as well.
But this is another topic ASUS is pretty horrible at. Same as some people claim it's "normal" having to reset all settings and not even re-use CMO files. Perhaps ASUS should have a look at their NUC series they got from Intel under their brand now. They show how things can be done much better. I recently had to update a couple of NUC7I3. Upgraded them from BIOS 0072 to 0092 (quite a big jump from old BIOS back in 2018 to latest from 2023. To my surprise it worked flawlessly. It even kept all the settings (without any manual export/import) and even the custom boot logo was preserved during upgrade. Moreover the BIOS includes automatic rollback so in case BIOS 0092 would render the system unbootable it would auto-downgrade to BIOS 0072. This perfectly enables remote upgrades.
I was a bit surprised even the custom boot logo survived during upgrade as you can also pre-bake it into the BIOS image but not putting any logo in would obviously preserve the existing logo.
In addition to this there are tools for Windows, Linux and EFI Shell provided to export/import settings allowing templating in case you need to stage hundreds of systems. Even a BIOS editor is provided allowing to export, edit and re-import BIOS settings from a running OS.
All those features are claimed to be impossible or "too complex" to be implemented some pages back in this discussion. So perhaps it's good to look a bit outside the wallet garden you're stuck in to improve things.
At least I never had any smoother BIOS upgrade than on those NUCs yet while on typical ASUS mainboards I cannot even remote-upgrade the BIOS without being stuck with unbootable default settings, losing the logo and getting no possibility to change defaults like "disable Armoury Crate". NUC upgrade however kept all this including settings like my custom SecureBoot config and boot order.

I use Ez Update to modify logos by installing AI suite latest and unchecking all components except for Ez Update. Works for me, it will ask for you to disable secure boot, then you can re-enable it after you update bios.

For me this 23-step guide is just unbelievable complex. What I do instead:
You can also re-use the CMO file if you flash to the same BIOS version. But there is no reset or disabling of secure boot or windows memory integrity protection required. If you flash to a newer/different version then you might have to clear CMOS and re-configure just as in any ASUS upgrade unfortunately (wrote about this in a previous post). Not sure though why ASUS cannot write the logo into different flash area and keep it across upgrades as well as keeping the settings.

Ezupdate works for my MB, and that's the only reason I use it, is to safely change logo then update from Windows. You will need to disable security feature in windows and re-enable them after you are done with your bios update.

And only way you get it is via AI Suite? Sadly not a component to be installed when I run it for my motherboards (Extreme and Gene).

@SAFEDISK, After some more tests, it seemed like it would pass, but it didn't. When cold starting the machine, there was new training in the memories, a clear sign of a problem. The machine then began to freeze, even though the internal graphics card had static memory configured to avoid management by dynamic memory allocation. I went back to a test version from a few days earlier, then discovered that I also needed to pass the TM5 memory test @usmus_v3: thread errors right at the beginning. Although it can pass y_cruncher. The tests below are before turning the machine off and on again, see that everything appears to be ok.

@SAFEDISK, My suspicions fell on this new option in the image below, it was really necessary to deactivate it. Even with relaxed timings I ended up having instability in the TM5 @1usmus_v3 (I took a 30-minute test, but I couldn't complete it due to lack of time). I'm using the previous version 2611.
