ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options
to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake
ocpak/octools
FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter
Test BIOSes:
new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
strixe-e 1515
for crosshair and strix e-e:
explanation of segment2 Loadline:
customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.
example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.
Adds for x3d
dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok
Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4
Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide
works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

My 9800x3D with overall SP of 113 seems to also have a decent/good IMC. I imagine if the FCLK was at an unstable frequency it would result in memory errors in a memory test app, like Karhu?
Yes, unstable FCLK would result in memory violations in Karhu

Ok, thank you. I wasn't certain if it would show up in a memory test or not. Any idea what most people are running on the core tuning algorithm? Auto = Level 2 I assume? And then there is legacy and level 1.

I'm running Legacy but it depends on the workload as to the benefits. The difference is negligible in most scenarios.

Thank you Sir,
Which mode would you recommend for strictly gaming? Legacy or Level 2? I know the AMD employee on reddit said Level 2 should provide the best overall performance, but I would rather get feedback from real user experiences.

I'm going to do a little section in OP of my thread later today or day or so later. But here is a data ZIP highlighting something I saw comparing R7 9700X vs R7 9800X3D.
The R7 9800X3D seems like great power efficiency. The R7 9700X does need the cTDP 170W as would be riding cTDP 120W in CB23. The thing to also note, the 9800X3D has RAM OC, which adds to power consumption.
On average in CB23 the R7 9700X uses ~32W more when comparing each CPU at FMAX +200MHz. As a percentage ~21% to 27% more power than R7 9800X3D whichever way you wish to calculate it. The CO may seem less deep on 9800X3D, but if we look at voltage, it's using less.
I may redo testing at some point with 9700X at FMAX 5450MHz, and stable PBO CO it holds for that FMAX and both at same RAM setup.

What is the compatibility issue with the 990 Evo 2TB? That is exactly the SSD that I have and I keep having problems with PCIe version sometimes dropping on my B650E-E.

Fixes are getting rolled out like you see in the new "x670e Hero" Bios 2806

BIOS 2806 ASUS X670E HERO
Changelog:
1. Improved system performance and memory compatibility, supporting 2*DIMM up to 6800MT/s with AEMP.
2. Fixed compatibility issue with Samsung EVO 990 2TB SSD when EXPO is enabled.

Will X670E TUF owners also get a stable bios soon? 🙂
Is the 990 2TB issue also present with previous bioses for e.g. TUF boards?
I hope just the "normal" EVO is affected and not the EVO "Plus", which a friend of mine just ordered incl. a brand new PC with ASUS B650 TUF.

No never ! Exactly the TUF will dont get one "JOKE" 😉
