ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options
to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake
ocpak/octools
FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter
Test BIOSes:
new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
strixe-e 1515
for crosshair and strix e-e:
explanation of segment2 Loadline:
customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.
example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.
Adds for x3d
dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok
Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4
Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide
works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

TestMem5 download page — PC RAM stress test: https://github.com/CoolCmd/TestMem5
On the right side there is the 'Releases' link which is where the files to download are. It already comes with several profiles, you can configure it with the most rigorous ones, such as anta@777 or 1usmus

Does BIOS 2204 bring any new/improvements to the R9 7950x3d in relation to BIOS 2124?

Memory training and stability seems to be resolved in this release. USB's are working properly.
Sleep i still need to test.

Actually for me it went worse compared to 2124. Used the same settings (no EXPO, no undervolting) and it got stuck on "NVRAM TEST". Never seen that before. Rebooted and even used the back button to reset to defaults and it was still hanging on "NVRAM TEST" (Q-Code 99).
2124 had sleep issues and also something I never saw before - resuming from sleep breaks audio - you need to restart Windows Audio service and toggle the volume and/or test device before Youtube lets you use the on-board card. Switching to another audio device works but not the on-board one.
Another issue found on both 2004 and 2124: rebooting gets the PC stuck at memory training even if I'm running them on default settings (no EXPO, no nothing). Fast boot is OFF both in Windows and BIOS. ASPM turned off. USB4 turned off.
Imagine remotely rebooting your PC and losing access until someone can manually force shutdown/restart it....on a 600$ bord
I'm sick and tired. Flashed back to 1905 !!!!!!! Which can't even boot EXPO II without BSOD and yes, memory is in QVL...
Can anyone please recommend me the last stable bios version I should die with ? I have exactly 28 versions on my ROG USB stick and I still can't find one that works 100%. It's either no EXPO, broken LED firmware, broken USB, broken sleep, broken NVMe....
"it's a shame" is not harsh enough to describe this...

I wonder if its more board related. I have issues on Extreme but never on Gene - super duper stable there! 🙂

i have almost the same issue.
the board is strix 670e-f, my memory kit is g.skill F5-6000J3238G32G-TZ5NR and i have two of those, CPU is 7950X3D.
with 2007, i at first didn't get stuck in memory training, until the memory context restore gripped its teeth into the ram give or take 5 reboots. 2124 and 2204 are immediate forever memtrains, with EXPO tweaked and with no EXPO at all. if that's wrong.
as i explained already ad nauseum, i'm disabled, and every time i had to force shut down the PC, my problem gets worse. so it's as if my PC is far away, in non health land. my apartment is doodoo and i worked with what i have. but i bought a stick to force shut down the PC from a distance. but i kinda didn't pay 500$ back 1,5 years ago, to join the hecking circus.
one thing that worked on the 2000 BIOS's was the sleep mode sometimes, stuck trough the night. yay, progress. i also read on the ASUS reddit, that someone found out that the issue stops when he disconnects his USB hubs, but again, i didn't pay 500$ to have to disconnect the also badly placed USB hubs every time before i go to sleep, and this is clearly still a remnant from the weird USB issue that was all the rage in the early days, where a double sleep in quick succession, fried the USB connection and the PCI express connections, until the next reboot.
oh and last time i also said something about my electricity bill that i was dreading, i got the end bill for the year in july. i wasted more than 200$ more, which singlehandedly comes from those sleeping issues. i even automated some other stuff to save electricity so that the mainboard won't break my neck.
on the old builds the monitors sometimes went off and on for the whole night when they woke up on their own cause the BIOS said "wake up", sometimes one of them managed to turn off automaticly as that's what i chose in windows when i noticed that auto sleep mode, lead to the USB problems, meanwhile the other screen just was blackscreening but turned on backlight. the LCD screen also at 4 years, already shows burn in issues, the QD OLED not yet, but, i mean, YIKES, that board is trying to ruin me if that monitor breaks soon too.
and again, i have my old PC in my bedroom now, and that thing never wakes up, if i don't wake it up. my TV in the bedroom also doesn't turn into a disco during the day when i'm not there. i never had such issues before i got this board. the GPU in my current PC was also in my old PC so it is not the source of the problem.
i'm going to flashback to 1905 too, which is also gonna be a project for me, since you ASUS for soem reason thought i'd be cool to block the downgrade path between the 1905 and 2007 version, so that you have to use the flashback feature, and can't use the easy flashback in BIOS itself. absolute CINEMA!
the board won't die with 1905 tho as i'm going to sell it as soon as the new chips are here, but, my path of putting any more energy into this, aside from my electricity bill, is donso. i had the best experience with that version, no stable sleep mode tho, so gonna hope if i just let it turn off the screens, that those two electricity hogs are atleast gonna stay dark if i don't even toy with the sleep mode.
i'm only going to update, if ASUS implements an emergency auto shut down in to the memory training. it can't be that you can't code into the BIOS that it resets itself into the american mega trands screen, were it says, press F1 for setup after 5 minutes of cycling. this problem needs such a solution.
the fact that y'all want ppl to get up, up to 10 times to just overclock the ram from scratch is crazy. there has to be an option for a failsafe autoshut down into the setup menu megatrends prompt.
the PC already takes almost 3 minutes to reboot anyway. if i have to wait 5 more minutes, and it can reset itself if it fails to load the RAM, i can live with that and i could continue my upgrade journey before i finally sell that board to someone that loves to thinker. good thing is, the new boards will arrive soon, and it's gonna take a moment for the 9000 series X3D chips to release, so i'm gonna watch all of the reviews this time. and no, i won't buy an ASUS board even if jay tells me to get one.
meanwhile one of my friends built a PC with a cheap ASROCK board and a 7800X3D for his GF, and in max a minute, PC is boots, with zero issues, unlike here with the hecking 500$ board.
it was an odyssey for sure.

i'm already back again.
guess? nah, wrong. i can't even flashback my BIOS with the flashback button on the back. i tried two diffrent sticks, with two diffrent bioses on it 1904 and 1905.
this mainboard is literally gonna make me go coocoo.
not enough that i lost my GF this month, which also partially, is to blame on this mainboard, as it had me have a giant chip on my shoulder the whole time, which removed a lot of positive attention, for something negative which was bothering me quite a lot, as i'm on my PC a lot, nope, now i'm forced to once more wait for anyone of you, to fix this new issue.
i hope god is well entertained with my modern ineration of techno job...
i'm trying 2007 again, and turned off everything which i payed money for, and even memory context restore. both entries btw. also, most ppl don't know if you turn on both, it actually gets faster. there's a whole reddit post of ppl that found out trough it.
also checked how you hire, adn of course you hire that way, no wonder all the other board makers fixed those issues, a year ago, but y'all can't...
if i get a stomach ulcer again, i'ma call it ASUS...
been a while since i was this angry.

Can we get some feedback to the developers regarding the modern sleep please?
since 2007/2613 revisions modern sleep is not working. Was there a poorly performed merge? Was working brilliantly on that version.
