ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options

to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake

customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.

example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.

Adds for x3d

dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok

97403

97404

Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4

Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide

works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Even if it does, then we need ECC ram too (I believe).

Ryzen doesn't disable ECC and from looking at the SuperMicro motherboards that support Epyc 4004, they appears to use up to 192GB UDIMM, similar to Ryzen. We do need more RAM options that support ECC though.

What helped a lot in this optimization were the maximum consumption in terms of power adjusted by the possible cooling (Assassin III air cooler), and the adjustment of the algorithm for cooling efficiency being more inclined towards the update.

Currently on 2007 bios:

Bios installed only after restoring all defaults, drivers updates, windows stable, no restore settings
Tested:
1- Stock defaults only
2- Tweaked as my performance preference
3- Only disable Armoury crate install and enabling Expo I
4- Only disable Armoury crate install and enabling Expo II

What happened in all these cases:
1- At the beginning and for 1 week, very stable system no issues.
2- USB crashes, AUDIO crashes, wifi card crashes, app crashes and BSOD daily multiple times a day. That was the worst I have ever had so far with this system. I had these issues before but not all together and not as frequent.
3- These issues mainly happen with browsers, 4K and currently random BSOD even when the system is idle
System:
ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI
Ryzen 9 7900X3D
Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36-96 1.40V 64GB (2x32GB) AMD EXPO

1905 works without issues

It is a good idea to contact the memory manufacturer and report the problem. If it is supported directly on your motherboard, then you can open a thread to request support.

yeesh, so not even 2101 is an option yet, to solve the sleep and wake up problems, with the USB crashing, and basiclly everything else on the mainboard crashing too?

friend of mine has a cheap asrock board with zero issues for months now, and i payed almost 500$ for my strix e-f board, and i can't even put my PC to sleep?!
i'm literally running the PC now 24/7, on 1905 with expo tweaked, and the PC had one BSOD during the night as it ran a 21:9 movie on my second display after being on for 9 days, with frequent gaming use and more.
and yes, even being too long, on turned off screen, often enough knocks out the USB connection, and without that one, the mouse of course, doesn't work anymore, so force reboot being the only option, which means i have to climb. and if you want to adress that issue to something else, think again. if i run one screen from two, and not turn off one screen in windows, windows will periodically try to contact the turned off screen. for aslong as it can contact one monitor, the USB connection won't be affected. only once the PC self shuts down to save energy, cause no connected display available, will windows hand over control to the mainboard, and then the same problem occurs which happens in sleep mode.
and for aslong as i don't turn off both screens for too long, the PC runs fantabously, but as soon as i would like to save some electricity, pow goes the USB. also pow goes the PCI express. the graphics card problem can easily be aleviated, by runnin anything which triggers the graphics card, but if you have a network card or sound card, only a reboot will bring back the internet and sound trough card.
my PC is placed unfavorably for me as a disabled person, so sleep mode was my go to method to save on my electricity bill.

dunno man, in this case ROG should actually pay for it, cause it isn't me that makes the sleep mode not work. i mean in a fair world, i should be compensated, cause it's soon going to be two years that this board is out, and we still stuck on fixing other issues that aren't memory related, cause the memory causes trouble again and again.

maybe in the next bios update, y'all stop fiddling with the memory at all and go back to whatever you did on 1905 cause it works good enough, and focus on the sleep function which is essential for a greener world, to work properly, before you entertain the overclockers more.
even in an ideal world, i wouldn't want to turn off my PC if it still takes 3 minutes to boot. in 2024.
this way i and many other here, would have a solution that is good enough, and would remove us from the bicker pool here, cause overclocking on AMD just doesn't seem fun, or intuitive. i just want to be able to put the PC into sleep mode on expo tweaked, without it turning on after 5 minutes on its own again, and then force the PC into the auto sleep mode which causes even more issues.
also, if i put the PC to sleep twice in a row, this almost always directly nukes the USB on the mainboard. maybe that helps to pinpoint the issue.

i also have my old PC back home in my bedroom, and there are zero wake up problems, or USB disconnects.
also, my old PC boots 8 times faster than your mainboard does. maximus hero X board, nvme 3 stick for boot drive.

eh, as i said, end of the year i will have payed off the worst buy i ever made, this time i'll wait it out to see which board works best with the next CPU i'll get, cause AMD is not free of guilt in this case, then i'll get the best bang for my buck, and will sell this nightmare to some other unfortune soul that hopefully doesn't have issues with where they can place their PC, to turn it off and on, on the source.
also seen some nifty trinkets like an on and off button for on the table, probably gonna invest in one of those.
my PC as said is placed in the only space where it doesn't either grill me, or stands in the midst of the way. it also weighs almost 80 pounds cause i invested in a ventilation dream beast for optimal cooling, but it's very suboptimal for a disabled person, to open it up 50 times, especially since my PC doc, doesn't live in the same city as i do anymore, so i would have to do it on my own, which would break the back of this camel still venting my frustration here XD

i know y'all only try to fix the peepeepoopoo asus fabricated with this one, but we've seen now with intel, that ROG has a bit of a 'gone rogue' problem to sell more power, even if it's unstable power.

Since BIOS 1709, I've had instability. But talking through all the problems I've had with this board with a friend, I realized that maybe it was a different issue... Because now virtually all my crashes are related to the GPU... Which could indicate a GPU or PSU issue

Long story short, one of the first things I tried ended up being the fix. I unplugged the 12-pin power connector to see if anything was wrong (I saw no visible issues), plugged in back in... and my box has been solid as a rock. I've been doing a lot of gaming lately, stress tests, all kinds of stuff. I haven't been able to get it to crash.

The cable was never pressed up against the case. I don't do anything that jostles the cable. I've been building computers for ~25 years and this issue still snuck up on me.

I have 2 points:

  1. If you're seeing instability... There's a chance that it's not necessarily related to your board/BIOS.
  2. These 12-pin GPU power connectors are really just trash.

This isn't directed to anyone in particular, and hopefully this helps someone.

With that said, 2101 seems to be pretty stable for me now that I've fixed my GPU issue.

Oh and one more thing...  The USB controllers on these boards really seem to be not great. When I do long  intensive IO tasks, usually it stops working within a few hours (it could stop completely, or maybe the speed is too slow to continue, etc)... and I have to unmount the drive, and remount it.... Often even a reboot is necessary. I also had the exact same problem with my previous build which used a Crosshair viii extreme (x570 chipset) board. But no issues on the Intel board before and none on an ARM SBC board I'm currently using to perform this regular monthly task that I've done for years.
